So i have just not been combing my hair for about 2 months now, for the 1st month i just washed my hair with water but now ive been using bronners. I usually read that most people dont wash until 5-7 days but i wash my hair every day or 2 days and that is because I spend a lot of time wrestling or am in a gym, i have backcombed a little , and most of all my hair has been sectioning. Ill try to post pictures soon, am i on the right track and is there anything i should or should not be doing?? thanks

Yeah, my dreads seem to tighten up after each wash...I sort of do it as needed. Starting off, I could only go a week before needing a wash. Now, I tend to do it every 3-4 days...seems optimal. Whatever you do, establish a routine so your scalp knows what to expect. I also wear a hat and my head itches more often (not too bad), but enough to know that it's doing something. I started the process 6 weeks ago and my hair is dreading pretty quick...(I have curly/wavy hair which helps)...I think if you take the right steps, they'll dread pretty fast.

I wash my hair everday, sometimes 2x a day. Everyone says cleaner hair dreads faster. I think the only reason people dont do it everyday is because itll dry your scalp too much or when u have fully matured dreads they dont get noticably greasy.

heh i wash my hair every other day. i can't do anything else, it gets flat and greasy otherwise. when you start using bronners too your scalp can take a while to adjust to it, but does so after a period of time.

you also might want to try using baking soda and hot water mixed... i use that because bronners makes my scalp too greasy.

so its been 25 days later since my post, i have no dreads at all not even small ones, nothing locking together or nothing, i backcombed some parts but ripped them apart because it looked ridiculous and hurt too much. dont comb or use conditioner, dont run my fingers through my hair. i just wear a hat all day long and chill, I do wash my hair every day though.

for some folks, it can take a long time to start locking up. exercise patience, and it will happen.
