Bufo Alvarius

Discussion in 'DMT' started by Jim_Morrison_Reincarnate, Oct 16, 2008.

  1. Owning a Bufo Alvarius toad is completely LEGAL. The milking of it, is not.

    You can order them off the net, Bouncing Bear is reputable;

As for the OP, do not force dry the poison, what's the rush anyway?

A lot of them die in transit, especially when it's cold, I just find that so sad :(

My toads ate mice they were so big. Sadly too the venom isnt worth the pets life..
As many times I milked them, they didnt get you high at all. Other than a mouth numbing effect. There was nothing worth it... This was in the 90's...

    Fuck canetoads

We cant all live happily and prosperous. These vermin cause pain to many beings. IF they have thoughts and know what is going on, then they are evil. I think they have thoughts but I doubt that they have emotional states beyond fear and comfort. (and hunger and sexy etc)
Amphibians are lower creatures, and the role they play in eating flies and other insects is incredibly valuable in itself.

Just don't hurt the animal or put it through too much stress - milk it and let it be

ps. I realise alvarius is not a typical canetoad - does it have nicer venom than marinus?

It's simmilar to it's austrailan cousin but it's native to the USA. Sadly, it's becomming extinct in some areas due to human encroachment. Down Under, they have no natural predators and plenty of food so they tend to spread like crazy, but that's no excuse for playing baseball (or cricket or soccer or whatever you folks do) with them.

I recently spoke with Jon at BBB about the shipping of their toads... It's gaurnteed live delivered, but I too was concerned about the treatment of them en-route. I'll cut and paste his emailed response here....

The only issues we’ve ever had with toads were from people not going to pick them up at the post office for a week. Just laziness from the receiver. Which is real disappointing and we don’t guarantee live delivery then, of course. But if you go to pick them up in a timely manner, there shouldn’t be a problem.
We ship around the weather and can ship with 60-hour heat packs, if necessary. We don’t keep toads at our store.
The packages are marked “Live, harmless amphibian.”

I also consulted a friend locally who owns a "variety" shop and we're considering setting up a pet and plant part of the store where people could come and pick up their new buddies as opposed to shipping.

Also, the venom when dried is in fact psychoactive, and the alkaloids can be isolated but that's another topic.

Treat nature right and she will treat you right.

OP: Be cautious about your experimenting, or your toad may very well outlive you. expect about 10 years of companionship if properly cared for!

Why dont you just get poisoned? Does the burning procedure kill the poison? Does it break down in teh drying process? It is strange that you can just ingest the poison and not get poisoned. Id assume youre not meant to eat the stuff... So yeh, is it the flame that kills hte poison? Can you still freebase it?

We cut open canetoads in first-year biology.. When they kill the toads, the poison leaks out of their heads. Im wondering if I could get a sweet yield by collecting the venom from all those toads??

    haha thats so vulgar...haha...ugh...

I was going to buy one but I have a baby boy and knowing how he likes to get in to things it could get bad. I heard they make great pets though very loving and mellow.
