k so i was talking to one of my boys and he told me i should clean my pipe like every month or so. is this true? if so how do i clean it?
cleaning pipes is your choice some people dont mind, or actually like the taste of a dirty pipe. assuming you have a glass piece there is no real need to clean it. eventually it will just clog to the point that its non-operational. most people would have the common sense to clean it before that point, though although i would suggest cleaning your pieces as often as possible, i clean most of my glass daily because i cant stand the taste and smell of a dirty piece. luckily, if you want to clean your pipe, you have a lot of options most of the cleaning solutions at your local headshop will work to varying degrees. but most are a rip off as they are common chemicals that can be had much cheaper, leading me to the next option ISO (rubbing) alcohol and salt. pour some salt and alcohol in your pipe, cover all openings with cling wrap, and shake the shit out if it. might have to repeat a couple times depending on how dirty the piece is. if you heat up the iso first it does a way better job, but can be dangerous so id suggest just sticking with room temp iso and salt there is a more recent product called grunge off which is not just fancy smelling alcohol, its a liquid that actually contains an enzyme that breaks down the tar and resin on your piece. no shaking or scrubbing required, just soak the piece in a tub of grunge off for a few days, run it through some hot water, and your piece will be brang new. grunge off can be used over and over, if you get too much resin in the, run the solution through a coffe filter to clear that gunk out, and then you can keep using it. its amazing stuff you can also use oxyclean, the shit that annoying ass billy mays advertising on tv for household cleaning. let your piece soak in a very concentrated solution and it will clean it up, more effort will be required than with grunge off though if your glass gets hard water stains you can use clr or some vinegar to clear that shit out, neither will touch resin though, just the hard water stains hope this helps, keep that shit clean!
ISO and salt work just fine. Formula 420 is good too, but can be quite expensive, and is basically the same as ISO and salt.
I like to keep mine resonated for a few reasons: You can take resin hits when it gets clogged to the point where it doesn't work, you can scrape it when you are desperate to get high and it acts kinda like a screen.

Lucky you, I just recently got mine and haven't smoked a hole lot out of it. By the end of the holidays I'm sure I'll have plenty.

You could use a glass screen, those are pretty neat. I personally dont like scraping my glass, because that scratches it. I like to be nice to my glass.
