yes i finally decided last night that my time with cigarettes is over.

i decided to post this thread to say it was my first sucessful day without one.

I am stronger than the grasp they have on me and i am finished!

Good job! I think after the pack I have now I am going to quit, for a while at least. I can tell the effects its already had on my body over the last 8 months. It's going to be so hard though because its mainly a social thing for me, ive met a lot of new people on campus just smoking cigs

i know how you feel...i didnt start smoking untill i was 18, my freshman year of college. There was so many cool people that were smoking cigarettes. I started because i liked smoking them after i smoked bud, then i started liking the first cig of the day, and then i started liking them after i ate. Its just a horrible cycle. You want to smoke one after everything you do.

    BUT CIGARETTES ARENT COOL!

I quit smoking cigarettes a month ago after on again off again smoking over the years. I still smoke cigars which is really not a safe alternative as some people would think. The second hand smoke of a cigar is also far worse than cigarettes. I have to quit sometime soon. I'm planning on having kids soon so smoking is going to be a priority cut back vice.

Don't smoke, it will kill you and wreck your health in so many ways. I regret starting, and I don't want to have people watch me smoke and then think it's all right.

Congratulations buttrfly, I know how hard it can be to break the addiction.

When I was in HS I started smoking cigs and soon my tobacco addiction became inextricably linked to my weed habit. I was smoking spliffs every day. Now I still haven't purged my stash of fine Virginia Shag, I love that smooth handrolled taste soooo much.

When I first started trying to quit I picked up running. Morning exercise helps me curb habits for the rest of the day and it builds up a healthy appetite as a well as good sleeping schedule.

    bless

    Doing great!

When I quit, walking, yoga, and meditation were really helpful. Drinking was not! Drinking was a big trigger for me to crave cigs. If you have any triggers-avoid them!
