maybe someone could help me out with this one. i have a 25 lb dog i'm putting down tomorrow and i was considering cremating her...like building a fire up on the mountain. anyone have any experience with this? i'm wondering how long it would take and if there is any preperation to the body.
man i could not do that Good luck make sure you have a realy hot fire, you want to burn her not cook her Not makeing a joke here, this is serious business, good coal base I guess, also perimid the wood, lots of air flow
please bury her, ron. don't try to cremate her. the fire would need to be very hot to burn the bones, it would be smoky and smelly and it would be awful to watch. let her body return to Mama Earth.
After my uncle's dog died, which was after he died... they cremated the thing and buried it with his ashes in the cemetary.
i've burnt a few steaks that count?,, seriously tho your best bet is to build a platform from large branches and build the fire on top with animal in the middle of it, once the body realy catches the fats will make it burn well, stay up wind whatever you do or you'll be smelling it for days. that would be cool way to be sent off i think, carried away by the wind
We got our dog cremated when it was ill and poisoned with anti-freeze from a stupid neighbour. Her only chance was a blood transfusion and it failed. We went to Dairy Queen and got her an ice cream cone, then they gave her a lethal injection as we were petting her and she died instantly. The veteranarian cremated her for us. My mom didn't want the ashes though. She said she received her mother ashes and couldn't handle it.
