When I took 2mg of xanax, the next day I felt like shit. Is there a noticeable difference (besides potency) between Clonazepam and Xanax? I will have access to clonazepam today, and I was wondering if its considered to have less side-effects than xanax. :hat:
All benzos affect everyone differently, though Clonzepam lasts longer and is generally considered to be less habit-forming. Lots of people like it better. It's more of a nighttime benzo for me since it makes me so sleepy. Xanax just makes me a little sleepy.
Having taken clonazepam both therapeutically and recreationally I can report no after-morning effects other than expected from a benzo. I think it's gentler on the brain than xanax.
I was first put on 2mg bar Xanax for my anxiety and then my doc prescribed 2mg Klonopins to try. I now only use Klonopins, They seem to last much longer and aren't as hard on my system as the xanax was. My personal opinon is that clonazepam is much better than xanax. Every1 is diffrent though.
^Your doctor STARTED you on 2mg Xanax? That is insane. I personally don't care for Xanax, it just makes me pass out. 2mg of Xanax would be stronger then 2mg of Clonazepam, to me anyways.
i havent tried clonazepan before but when i did try xanax, i was completely fine the next day. i took it while i was on a plane and then later on in the week when i got a bad anxiety attack. i took 2.5 mg each time and all was good. i guess this type of stuff affects people differently. thats why doctors like to prescribe xanax at a low dose first then they work there way up to a good does for you.
Xanax is one of the shortest acting Benzo's. It has an incredibly short half life of about 11 hours, while the half-life of Clonazepam being 18-50 hours. So you might still feel a bit groggy the next day after taking the Clonazepam, and another thing you have to worry about is taking something the next day or two after taking the Clonazepam, and risk having it interact with it. Back when I would take Methadone recreationally, I used to have to wait 2 days after taking Valium, before I could take the Methadone again, because of the interactions that the two medications have, and the ridiculously long half-life of Valium.
