The Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy is such a freat movie to put on late at night. Just a magical movie everyone should see at leats once.
I gave up trying to find this movie... its hard to find movies that are more than a few months old, and aren't deemed "classics" to watch online. That said, I'm now watching a fairly crappy screener of "the mist".
you ought to be able to order it to buy or rent the tape if you've still got something to play it on. thing is, it was a made for tv thing. the miniseries they made of it on pbs. it's also a series of books, a radio play, that was its first itteration, and even an old dos text based computer game. all by the same guy. who made each version of it a little different, though they all centered arround the same bunch of charicters and basic over all situation. my favorite charicter of the bunch of them, and the one i in some ways relate to more then the rest of them, was slartybartfarst. adams didn't exactly call him god. he got rid of that with a babble fish. but he did give him a world where he made planets. including, suposedly the origeonal of this one. he also gave him a space ship that resembled an itallian restaurant, the kind of 'itallian' restaruants one finds in the u.s. and appearantly g.b. with the checkered table cloths and the wine bottle candle holder and the controls were how you moved the salt and pepper shakers and other condemints arround on the table. i remember when i was little doing that myself. i also remember there were a couple of fanshrine websites. you might google them up or something. there might be links from one or another of them if you can still find one. i remember there was even one that had a forum that i was on as slarty's half brother or something. although that one didn't last long. that may have been the one that was actually hosted by the beeb. but there were at least a couple of others. there's almost bound to still be one somewhere. =^^= .../\...
well i don't know about "everyone" or for sure when that happened. probably while adams was still alive so he could have a hand in it too. but the other stuff, if nothing else, you ought to be able to at least find the books at a second hand bookstore! as for movies, well if either the box office version or the pbs miniseries were ever released on video tape, as there almost bound to have been, you know, one of those vido tape and dvd rental places ought to be able to order it for you. the guy's name was douglas adams, who created all that, just in case there's anyone in the galaxy who doesn't know. =^^= .../\...
Well, I'm dirt poor... renting movie money is better put towards food at the moment I was referring to literally watching the movie online, I'm sure every rental place would have a copy of it... if I recall it was a big movie. I'm not that big on movies I can't watch with more than a few clicks I did catch "the mist" though - worth a watch if ya haven't seen it!
no, it was actually only a couple years ago. it's not a terrible movie, but it's pretty dissappointing after having read the books and seen the miniseries. i don't remember if it was based on just the first book or the first two... either way, i remember that several of the jokes were dumbed down for the average moviegoer, and they also spent too much time creating an annoying love story between the main character (don't recall the name at the moment) and trillian.
the old movie/series/whatever was way better than the new movie the ne wmovie was in fact highly disappointing in comparison to how much i remember loving the old one
Just wanted to make sure everybody knows that another book is coming out!! It's being written by Eoin Colfer, the guy who wrote Artemis Fowl. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7619828.stm I adored all the books, the BBC series AND the modern movie (even though it wasn't 100% accurate)
