I'm reading a book about sociopathy, can't remember the title off hand right now, but it's pretty good. Generally I'm a reader of fiction, but occasionally I'll get the urge to get out of my fantasy world. What are you reading and is it any good? I need ideas for when library time comes around.
Yes, The Lisan al Gaib (the giver of water) it also translates to (the voice from the outer world) Hotwater
Living up to the expectations, I hope? I havent picked up anything in a little while, but I was reading God Emperor of Dune, Autobiogprahy Of A Yogi, the Qur'an, Being and Nothingness, Buddhist Bible, a very detailed explanation of the I-Ching in the past month. I tend to read at least 3-4 books at a time though, my memory may suck at recalling important things, but when it comes to books, I can keep it all stored for a long time
fucking fantastic. edit: and it's been around decades, just spend fifty cents on a used copy somewhere, let someone get you something else for christmas.
Rousseau .... Social Contract Hobbes .... Leviathan Locke .... Essay Concerning Human Understanding Gassendi .... Syntagma Bacon .... Meditations and the ever fun Wittgenstein .... Tractatus
my dad recommended it. but i'm mostly asking for music and books and such for christmas, and insisting they get everything used that they can. i dont want them spending too much on me for something thats not any better
the cool thing about my family is we pretty much all know what we're getting, and we ask for what we want, and it works that surprise bullshit vanished years ago.
It's very good, it picks up where the original Frank Herbert Dune ended I feel somewhat nostalgic for God Emperor of Dune with his fish speakers, his majordomo Moneo (poor moneo) his bitch of a daughter Siona, and of course the dirty tleilaxu Hotwater
It's the greatest sci-fi series ever written :cheers2: But I must warn you it's highly addictive Hotwater
Gotta love the tleilaxu! What would life be like without gholas and face dancers? PRETTY boring if ya ask me :cheers2:
