You're not actually disagreeing with each other as much as just putting forward different extreme examples from either end of the spectrum. I think this is the route of a lot of misunderstandings on-line - when people come across as though they're saying that their way of seeing things is 100% correct, even though that might not be what they actually mean. I think if you can make it clear that you're still able to respect alternate points of view, a lot of conflict can be avoided. No probs.
