Are the chances of a trip "sticking" with you actually high? Im a pretty calm person who is thinking about trying acid for my first time.

yea you basically have nothing to worry about, just listen to some good music, maybe have some fun activities that you can do.. and just keep the happiest thoughts in your mind, and you will have a fantastic experience

well whatever music you like, relaxing, melodic music is the best to choose

also, techno and similar type of music can be very enjoyable on cid..

if you are into melodic metal, (black metal, some death metal) there are some great bands with sounds that blow your mind when you are trippin

The distinction that needs to be made regarding the fuzzy line between a trip sticking with you and being changed forever, is that no, the effects of LSD in no way possible will persist. Your body metabolizes and pushes the chemical into your bloodstream and runs it's course in a matter of hours, so the drug will wear off, guarenteed 100%. If you drink a coffee, are you going to be wide awake forever? That's what is being implied with such a question.
Now, what does happen for most of us, is that LSD and other psychedelics expose your awareness to higher realms of thought, deeper perspective into the nature of reality, and an ability to absorb more incoming data, waves of vibration that are bombarding us all the time that your mind filters out so that you dont go insane. Your memories will come flooding back to you in massive waves, your mind will race and realize how material things operate very quickly and on other levels than normal, your familiar phrases or inside jokes with a past will seem very profound and your will comprehend the totality of a familiar things history rather than just doing something out of habit, etc. Basically, you become much more aware of everything that exists, including the inner workings of your mind, and some people think of this as a flashback, or HPPD, or permanent damage done to the mind. I would beg to differ and say that the only negative effects of psychedelics on the physical mind is that it sends you temporarily off balance, experiecing such high and low emotions for 12 hours is sure to knock you out and run you down if you do it too often. Another common misconception is that smoking pot causes flashbacks. Which is compltley ignorant if you understand what is happening, that herb takes you into a similar state of expounded consciousness, although on a much less intense scale. Also, that is why I think it causes paranoia, because you are tapping into the psychedelic mind state, but you aren't 'really there' and are only enhancing certain parts of your senses.
