I like quite a bit of music from the 80's.

Fugazi were an 80s bad were they not?

Agreed...I think the main problem is that all the good music of the 80s was buried by bands like wham and twisted sister...doomed to be forgotten in history.

I think the 80s marks a new beginning of realism in music, true rebellion and honesty that was not as present in the 60s or 70s.

    yeah, I forgot Fugazi.

I agree with your sentiment. when you really look at it, the people who hate the 80's the most are usually the "music stopped being good after the 70's" crowd.
truth is, popular music and public taste has always been mostly bad. for every Deep Purple there were dozens of Uriah Heeps. The Monkees sold more records in 1966 than the Beatles and Rolling Stones put together.

Eighties synthpop! Eurythmics win hands down. Eighties rock is hideous.
