what kind of rum? if its not something i like, i might make fun of your differing taste, i've been known to do that:cheers2:
No I ate some reduced caesar salad dressing that might be slightly off with my dinner tonight, and I was half way to the supermarket on my way to buy a newspaper, and I had to leg it back so I could drop my arse. I thought for a moment I was getting food poisoning, my mum said it gave her the trots as well, I though therefore it was best to kill all bacteria that might be lurking in my innards with some alcahool. Since i kinda feel alright now, I thought I would just stick some coca in it, then I'll still have a bit of stomach lining tomorrow that I can use for digestion. It's a 35ml cheapo bottle of Tesco, it's alright, as good as Bacardi.
i dont like bacardi. coca is great for stomach problems though. i approve. only downside is if i mix some coca with some alcohol, i stay so clear headed i can drink even more than normal
This is how it is with me. Just add alcohol and I'll keep drinking it 'til the fuckin' cows come home. BTW I quit my job a few months ago, that was a very stupid thing to do and was inspired by a bottle a rum. Aye.
i know, but all the blends i know are really mild. i once spent 50 bucks on a bottle of a single malt called dalwhinnie, i forget the age, and it was so mild i could have gotten a decent blend or even an irish whiskey for half the price and would have enjoyed it as much. i was disappointed. i'm only now learning more about the different varieties, and i prefer a more full bodied drink. so far as i can tell, i really like speyside whiskies the best. well peated, but not too overwhelming. but i really am no expert. i like a lot of brands i know of though. aberlour is one of my favorites. i also like isle of jura. macallan cask strength is good, but expensive. i like oban 14. auchentoshan is good....so something from all over the place, and different characteristics.... but i've never had a blend that was as good as a single malt imo but i know they're out there. and i also know single malts that are unenjoyable.
Aaaaawwwwwwwww Dalwhinnie is one of my favourites! It's so fucking nice, especially if you ain't drank for weeks and you have a wee nip of that at bed time, very warming. I'll let you into a not very well known outside of Scotland secret.... black bottle* It's quite peaty, since it is from the Ilse of Islay. There are 7 good distilleries there, and this blend is made from them. So it's a blend of 7 good single malts. What is most important in a whisky is the water, that is what makes a good whisky, so it doesn't matter a hoot if it's a blend or a single malt.
to be honest there aren't many blends we get here. johnny walker all over the place. j&b. dewars. idk none of the blends i've had have done it for me. not that they're bad, i just find them soft and muted in flavor. black bottle i've certainly never seen or heard of.
and its not that i disliked the dalwhinnie. it just wasn't what i was hoping for. and for 50 bucks, hell....i coulda got more for the money and got a blend or even an irish whiskey that would be just as good.....50 bucks woulda got me 2 bottles of tullamore dew and a bottle of good beer!
i'll have to try it, i have heard from a shop owner that if i was going to buy a blend that i should try j&b oh! and chivas regal of course. forgot about that for a moment.
