I wonder if she even knew who Henry Kissinger was before she was presented to him by the campaign, but at one of the debates she tried to come off as an old friend and colleague. I wonder where he stands on Palin today. Perhaps they are close?
I feel sorry for her, even though I didn't really like her. She is being crucified and she didn't really ask for that, even though she did enter it being very divisive.
I think some of this criticism would be deserved if it's true that she refused preparation for that Katie Couric interview. That's the interview that started McCain's decline in the polls.
She was intentionally divisive. She pandered to the prejudices of uneducated whites. When she said that Barack Obama "palled around with terrorists," she was really saying, "Look how dark his skin is." I am glad that the United States is finally becoming too mature to find that kind of thing appealing.
