I didn't know that before. Until recently I didn't have a favorite- but he's been in good movies so consistently throughout his career. The Conversation French Connection, etc. I got a new one from Kim's today- he's the son of a domineering father (which I can't identify with because I'm the son of a domineering mother). And I got a SNL retrospective so- busy Friday night. iggy:
I haven't seen that one. Unfortunately Hollywood doesn't make movies like it used to- but your reference reminds me of the one he did with Denzel in a submarine. What's the name of that one?
I can't think of a single film I've seen with him aside from The Royal Tenenbaums. I started watching the French Connection and got distracted, and I would like to see Bonnie & Clyde someday. my favorite actor is a toss up between Bill Murray and Daniel Day Lewis.
I think of Bill Murray more as a sketch comedian. The quality of his movies is very inconsistent- though I love him too.
i adore bill murray. i also really like jason schwartzman and edward norton. jeremy piven is fucking hilarious, too, though i've only seen him in entourage and smokin' aces....
the sketch comedy is way in the past, daddy-o. his movies have been extremely inconsistent, but as an actor he's aged as gracefully as anyone. and I don't think anyone pulls off emotive stoicism as well as Bill.
I like him a lot too Agreed on Bill Murray's emotive stoicism too. He has definitely developed that over the years, but I even think his early comedies stand up against others of that era
i haven't even seen the majority of his movies... though he was excellent (and hella scary) in there will be blood.
back home when I'd get drunk with my mates we'd always end up doing Daniel Plainview impressions at some point. "ladies & gentlemen, if I call myself an oilman you will agree"
Looking at his filmography he certainly is prolific actor; but I still like him in The Poseidon Adventure :cheers2: Hotwater
