Reading the news from around the world, it is the poetry of Schiller that comes to mind. I can't get it out of my head. It is the words to Beethoven's "ode to joy".

Hope. Joy. Renewal. Once again, we are a great example to the world.

I feel it too. Waves of pride and excitement keep going over me today in very touching ways.

Let the world witness now that it was the monsters of greed, lies and torture of the last eight years that they had to fear, not the people of this country. Our eyes have been opened. Pray that we never close them, as we have in the past, again.

    I hear you.

I know Obama hasn't offered us peace in our lifetimes, but since the election Cat Steven's Peace Train has been playing in my head.

it seems we all have some kind of specific musical ideas to fit our moods.

It's a testament to the power of Art. I hope it can once again be ascendant. In the words of Ayn Rand, good art shows us "as we are, and as we ought to be".
