Reasons for your circumcision

I was cut because my parents thought it was normal and recommended, no other real reasons

I wish they weren't being so fucking stupid when they made that decision, it was my body and should have been my decision

from your posts it sounds like you are trying to justify your circumcised status

were you cut as a kid and don't know what you lost? or as an adult for cosmetic reasons and want others to do so, so that you feel you made the right decision?

 

I am very happy with my cut status, and so have all the women I have been with. I don't need to justify anything, but I do advocate a "loose cut" circumcision which preserves most of the foreskin, but does not hide the best part. So I "know what I lost" as a baby because i never lost it, it was just repositioned slightly.

And this survey is just an opportunity to find out why others around the world reading this thread had or got it done. It is surprising that some posters have no idea why they were circumcised. I suppose if it was done at birth and the baby was then adopted, he may not know, but otherwise...

I had to get cut due to the fact that the foreskin would not retract, (it never did in all 17.6 years of my life), and it hurt having it cut at 17 mind you.

 

Circumcision is a Jewish ritual...it isn't what makes a person Jewish. There are lots of uncut Jews out there...I know that some of my cousins were never cut. Actually, I read somewhere that Theodor Herzl's sons weren't either.

I'm Jewish, so I was circumcised when I was a week old. I think it was unnecessary, but I don't wish I wasn't. I don't think I would feel any less Jewish if I was uncut. I'm still quite conflicted and undecided about what to do with my future sons, if I ever have any...

 

I am uncut.

Why?

I was not circumcised because my parents were neither superstitious nor sadistic.

 

You are wrong for telling a person it is ok to cut their dick just to look like everyone else. That is just sick, you have problems. No guy should ever have to defend his foreskin when it is just natural and quite honestly better looking the a mushroom head.

I'm gonna answer for my dad. He was cut at 14 because he couldn't retract his foreskin and in the 60's there was little knowledge on steroid creams. He had to have it cut off.

He said is was very painful, and that he isn't happy that it had to happen at all now that he knows that there may have been other remedies.

 

Sophie - people alter their appearance all the time to look like everyone else. They lose weight, get their ears pierced, nose fixed, hair bleached, etc.

I would not recommend that a guy get circumcised just to look like the other guys, unless it bothers him so much that he is having psychological problems, or deep feelings of inferiority, as a result. Even then, I would counsel him on alternatives.

 

You always seem to be so pro circumcision. I just couldn't imagine having a guy cut to look nice, which I think it looks great with foreskin. I can understand that your happy with your penis, but its not for every guy. I feel no parent should have the right to circumcise their child at birth, it should be their sons choice not the parents. It just doesn't seem right to cut something that isn't theirs.

You are circumcised while I am unmutilated. We each prefer our own circumstances.

We both are ready to give our opinions on circumcision … and this is appropriate behavior. The problem is this: You represent yourself and a sex-therapist even though you are not credentialed and the advice you give, if followed, does irreversible damage to the person who foolishly believes that you are giving unbiased advice.

If they follow my recommendations or listen to my experiences they WILL NOT end up with damaged genitals.

How is it that you support male circumcision, but are against female circumcision? Isn’t that kind of sexist for the 21st century?

Please pardon my ignorance (and note that this reply is out of genuine curiosity), but isn't circumcision due to the covenant God made with Abraham, saying that each male of his descendants must be circumcised on the eighth day after birth, as a sign forever of said covenant? Moreover, aren't all males who aren't circumcised to be cut off from his people?

It all branched out from Genesis 17:

10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

What I'm curious about is why modern Judaism has veered from this path.

Perhaps. Though, the way I see it, if you claim to be Jewish, you believe in the Old Testament; thus, logic and reason, to one who claims to be Jewish, is to have your offspring circumcised. Unless they want to be outcasts. I wouldn't mind if a Jew explained it to me...

 

Since this seems to be such a questionable theory i will be the first to give you the truth on this hole matter from a professional opinion, i am a doctor and have been for 15 years and my profession is the male/female genitali.

it is a fact, study's show that females who have had sexual intercourse with male's that are uncircumcised do infact get more sensations than male's who are circumcised.

the circumcised male will lose not only slight girth but the ability to have natural secretions and feeling's that come with being "uncut" it will also leave the penis to be more susceptible to ware and tare as age goes by, and uncut males penis will stay healthier for a much longer period of time. it also has an effect on E.D "erectile dysfunction"... a male who is "cut" is more likely to to have E.D sooner in there life time as opposed to "uncut"

the foreskin of an uncut male will hit the "g-spot" nearly every time without any effort at all, because the ridges that the foreskin have are not only for protection but the males/females pleasure as well. the foreskin also contains thousands of tiny nerve endings and receptors that increase the males pleasure and feeling.

and the hygiene of and uncut male is almost always healthy, it is as simple as taking a shower/bath and doing the proper cleaning that any male should do "cut" or "uncut"... you should always perform these task's daily regardless if you are circumcised or not.

i am not putting down those who are "cut" but the incorrect practice of medical science is shear stupidity and should be corrected properly.

so if you want an honest medical/personal opinion on this matter i will rule it out.

uncut male's can infact please a women more "sexually" and you can argue with this fact all you want, i have my masters so please don't try to attack me with ignorant comments cause i will not reply nor tolerate stupidity from people who have no true knowledge of these things. what i say is based on the knowledge that has been provided by medical study's conducted in the US.

there is no longer reason's to "cut" a male anymore, it has been proven a form of unnessicery mutilation and nearly 80% of males are now uncut since the human rights act of 2006 was battled by angry parents who disproved that the surgery was humane for an infant's/adult's.

and geeze kiddo you sure are obsessed with you penis, i would recommend a real hobby someday.
