The term African American relates more to a culture than to race, at least from an historical stand point.
I've seen people from Spain, Germany Netherlands and France make an even bigger deal out of race than most people here.
Yes, but at least they are out and open about it. America has the worst kind of racism, the hidden, suppressed kind, the kind that boils deep down inside, the kind that's true and vile. Plus, this entire culture makes a huge deal out of race, in the countries you speak of it is not a cultural phenomenon, but more of an individual one. Plus, many Europeans exhibit racism towards immigrants (Arabs, islander blacks, etc.), not people who have lived within their society for many years. All in all, American racism stands out.
It would be very hard to pint-point the exact culture, now would it? One could argue that no such culture even exists, or that it was created by white people for black people.
I've taken many of those. There is no shared culture. There are roots in many different African tribal cultures, then a shared lack of culture as slaves.
It helps to explain why a lot of black view Colin Powell as an "Uncle Tom" or any black person that is a republican.
That's an idiotic response. Stop giving me idiotic responses. You could save yourself some time by simply stating what this shared cultural identity is. ...I will ofcourse then proceed to owning and belittling you and your ignorance. But hey, you might as well try.
i had a dream i was eating a piece of and then had sex with a big black guy, but we couldn't get full penetration because i had my jeans on. what do you think that means?
I probably means you don’t got no black in your genes. Yous probably just a plain white crackr ameriican.
a smidge of native american. it's the good looking side. actually, that would be the german side, but i imagine that would be de trop to mention.
What a crock of shit, first off the term is recent second of all Africa is a continent not a country, it is made of numerous people from assorted lives and cultures so the term even under its current meaning desecrates those called "African American" their true cultural backgrounds. All it has allowed is a politcally correct term to call a group of people, the name is really nothing better than the bullshit names that have always been called. I am sure you will find such a vast difference in culture from Morocco to Egypt to Angola and so forth. Its like calling all "white" people "White" or "European Americans". Its an insult, not all parts of Europe are any way alike.
