Which part, the person I voted for, or the proposition? I figure if they are willing to actually try and get a job without just resorting to living off the state then sure why not give em a 5% boost on their test.
I voted a few weeks ago. Wrote in Mike Gravel, although it likely didn't count. I also voted Hagan for senate.
the proposition. my opinion is you shouldnt get a cookie just because you want a job. i don't care if they're disabled because of an injury, whether its because they were fighting for money under the pay of the government or whether it was a gang war or whatever. i think people, for the most part, already bend over backwards for veterans. giving them an advantage over others when looking for a job just kinda seems silly to me. they aren't better people. neither have they traditionally been widely discriminated against, with the exception of the end of the vietnam war.
Yeah I see your side of things, but I still will stick to what I believe. Just based on the fact that alot of people nowadays are part of what is considered a "Poverty-Draft" where a good majority of the people are entering the armed services because they have no other option for employment. Once they are injured and forced to leave a good majority of them still find it incredibly hard to get employed. Our states workforce is one of the few places where you can get a job that pays well enough to make a living with minimal educational experience.
i wish i could have voted ooo i forgot, michigan might become the 13th state to legalize medicinal marijuana. the prop was favored 2:1, so hopefully it will pass.
i voted for my first time for the election, other than the primes. i was part of the write in Ron Paul 08. i was in line for only a minute. i brought my best friend the free starbucks coffee cuz she was in line for an hour
After weighing the odds of being selected for jury duty against the benefits of voting for one of those two clowns, I made the decision to give a vote of no confidence.
I wrote in Ron Paul, but, does anyone know a good site that lists all the ballot measures, I can' find shit about the 2 questions on the Connecticut ballot, even on local news sites
CBS news has results for all major players here: http://election.cbsnews.com/election2008/president.shtml he got a few thousand.
I voted for Obama! You should have seen how excited I was when NBC announced he just became the 44th President of the United States! God, I wish I could have been there in Grant Park in Chicago last night. I was jumping up and down, I was screaming, I was crying, man, I was so happy. I seriously believe that I have never been that positively and purely happy in my entire life. But damn, I was bouncing around all over the place when he won. The only that would have made my night COMPLETE, was a little booty. Had I gotten laid last night after Obama won, I swear this morning would have been absolutely golden. I would have pissed glitter for weeks to come. Thank Happiness that Obama won! I'm still bouncing around.
Wow, all this time I thought I couldnt vote, but PA allows convicted felons to vote if they make parole rather than total incarciration! Wtf who cares, I probably wouldnt have voted anyway :cheers2:
