Is it just me or do the two kids who carried out the shooting at Columbine high school have a large "fan" following on the internet? I understand that its natural to be facinated with the macabre but all over You Tube and various websites there seems to be posts of people who condone and love these two individials for what they done. i dont get it.

they planned it pretty well, better than any other school massacre.

would've been better if they killed the bullies though...

    People are sick.

Everybody likes to form a clique in their sandboxes.
    Some more macabre than others.

The kids who did columbine are despicable people, really. No good at all, fuckin dumbasses. The fed up, bullied white kids are the ones you gotta worry about the most in school, because as columbine showed us, they are the most lilekly to fuckin kill someone. What they did was terrible, and they should burn in hell in my opinion. As for their "fan club," it is nothing more than yet another fucking stupid internet community. Really, people get fuckin dumb when they get on the internet. Those people most likely don't really support the columbine shootings, but rather they say they do because they are trying to be "rebellious" and "trendy" and "cool." So many people are fucked in the head because what they think society and other people want them to do. it's sad really, but that's for another post.

People just want to know "why," I think for the most part. My daughter studied that case in great detail for a long time.

Myself, I'm a "fan" of the Charles Manson case (the whole case, not just the already-solved murders or the people involved in them). Not because I think I can solve any of the many unsolved murders possibly carried out by those people, but mainly just to understand the mentality involved, and the methods of manipulation used. Most people very mistakenly believe, for instance, that Manson had near-magical "hypnotic" powers of persuasion, or "did it with his crazy eyes" or "drugs" when the full picture is a lot more interesting- and disturbing- than that.

I find it fascinating that people are often afraid to try to understand such a horrible situation, as if they don't even trust their own minds not to succumb to evil.

I think these "fans" don't want to understand or investigate.
I think these kids/young adults think somehow they did a good thing - if only they could do it. Probably found new "heroes" to worship by now.

i think a lot of kids who've been viciously bullied would likely take a vicious glee in that sort of thing. not all would actually condone such an act, but a few would. i guess it helps to remember that the people you're treating shitty just may be one of those people. :leaving:

The way I understood it the two kids that did the shooting werent even harassed all that much, They did it mostly for the notoriety of doing it.

My 41 yr. old brother has been a huge Charles Manson fan since he was a teenager. He also thinks Tim McVeigh and that other famous bomber guy (Ted something) are way cool.

My brother isn't psycho. He went to college and works in an office and is married and all that.

I dunno why some people feel all warm and fuzzy about lunatics who like to shoot people or slit their throats or whatever. Some people just feel a personal connection to that sort of thing.

It's these 'tribute' videos on youtube that get me. I think it might be like mamakc says, and it's kids that are bullied seeking some sort of justice...

There's something about man's inhumanity to man thats definately intriguing though, I'm fascinated with concentration camps! I think there is the same sort of curiosity with people that are interested in Columbine.
