Hi all, I'm looking to make myself a nice new pair of pants. I was considering making them out of a light weight hemp, but I can't seem to find it for less than fourteen dollars/yard, which is too much for me to spend. What do you all use when handmaking clothing? I am very new to this, so I'm not really sure what reasonable prices are for fabric. Thanks all!

i have a soft (and flowing) spot for panne and stretch velvet. a nice linen would be good too. i also like fleece and fake fur (i have spiffy camo fake fur overalls...heres a picture from high school) i just walk through the fabric store feeling everything until i find something i like.
