Small thing ive noticed after taking LSD, no more headaches. I used to get intense migraines prior to taking LSD. Now nothing. Its been this way for over a year. A good thing but a bit weird. Anybody else notice this?
I don't usually get headaches, I few months ago I took 4 hits and I was turning everything into psychedelic geometric shapes and I'd shake it off and do it again. I got a serious headache after tripping 8 hours and thats when I went to sleep. I could've continued but my head was killing me. Yet again, doesn't usually happen....it was some good dose though.
yeah my headaches were dramatically reduced after my first trip; I also have post-vasectomy ball pain that was lessened after my last trip. I always just chalked it up to part of the rebirth phenomenon
Sometimes I'll get really bad headaches after an acid trip, my brain just feels worn out and needs rest.
yeah i get that too, but generally since i started smoking weed and tripping i just don't get headaches at all really... atleast not like i used to.
I never really had headaches too often. But now i think about it i dont think i have had an headache since first taking acid. Except when i take around 8+ tabs. after coming down off of that much acid i get some pretty strange headaches. Not the normal type though. I cant explain the feeling, dunno if others get it.
I should probly add that I tend to get a distinctive, brief headache on the onset of low dose trips, and fixating on objects during a low dose trip hurts my head, but it all dissolves after. High dose (~400 mics and up) I have no issues at all
i've always wondered if psychedelics have a negative effect on the brain, over an extended time and use. such as brain cancer, tumors, and whatnot. like terrence mckenna.
yeah, they have found it can reduce headaches. god only knows why. it's sad, it's been over 60 years... still know almost jack shit about lsd.
i have noticed this as well. I get ridiculously painful migraines fairly often, about 2-5 a month. At the end of may me and a friend tripped, and after i was migraine free for about a month and a half, it was amazing. Then they started again. I tripped again last week, and haven't had a migraine since, although the last two trips, i got a migraine partway through both trips, not a bad one, but still... I wouldn't mind having to trip once every month or so to keep my migraines away. Only problem will be finding the acid. also, some say it may help b/c it is what's known as a vasoconstrictor, basically constricting blood vessels, presumably taking pressure off of certain nerves. afaik, this hasn't been clinically proven, although not much has been about migraines anyway.
There have been multiple studies done on lifelong users of various psychedelics (like the various tribes that use peyote, ayahuasca, etc.), none were found to have any higher then normal (non-using) rates of brain problems. There is growing support and research studies that the treatment of cluster headaches with low dose mushrooms or lsd is effective. There was even an episode of the tv show "House" that was about that. -clip from show - http://www.clusterbusters.com/HOUSE_CH1.wmv
LSD was accidently discovered while Hoffman was searching for a cure for migraine headaches. maybe he succeeded but got distracted by the "side effects". too bad research got sidetracked and later squealched, otherwise we might have a valuable headache cure by now. actually there were 2 epidodes of House, one where he took lsd to cure his own headache, another where he gave magic mushrooms to a patient suffering from cluster headaches. that was fun, when they discussed cluster headaches I yelled at the tv "give him lsd!" and everyone was surprised when the story moved in that direction.
