Do not do Nalbuphine if you have an existing opiate habit. It has naloxone in it and sends you into instant withdrawls. Normally I do much better research on the drugs that I choose to do. I am embarrassed that I got caught up in the fun and wonder of buying some new kind of pain medicine and did not realize the full makeup of what I was trying. I did some reading before buying but misunderstood how the drug worked. This experience was unbelievably awful - very hard to describe in words. It would make a very good torture method. I did 10 mg IV and 10 seconds later I was in full withdrawl after experiencing a searing hot flash all over my entire body (this heat flash thing was kind of scary), my heart rate jumped, I actually watched my pupils grow to the size of huge black circles, sweating profusely, massive anxiety and panic set in, instant laxative, leg cramps, and more. Some of the symptoms were just so profound I didn't know what was happening to me and it was very surreal and trippy in a bad way. Then I realized what had happened and called a friend to talk me through. We got online and began searching to find out how long the Naloxone would last and what I could do to alleviate my condition. One post said 3-5 hours and another said 45 minutes. Someone posted that you could administer small doses of morphine to relieve the discomfort. After all the initial insanity I then went into the standard cold/chills clammy and sweating withdrawl mode. I managed to prepare a 30 mg shot of morphine and got that in - and it helped ever so slightly. After 40 minutes I could detect things beginning to revert back to normal, but it took 2 hours and 3 more shots of morphine to feel good again. I am only posting this because it might help prevent it from happening to someone else or help them know what to do.
That must have been hell. I don't even want to imagine it. What was your habit like before you took the shot of nalbuphine?
yeah - I didn't even get this post right either I think. It's chemically related to Naloxone, but doesn't actually have Naloxone in it. Regardless - it is a mixed agonist antagonist and pretty much acted like Narcan for me. Or what I imagine Narcan to be like. I've been on 60-100 mg of morphine on average for about 2 months now with some days adding in an OC80 plus some more morphine on top of that. Before that I was just taking 2 tramadol a day for the past year. But I have a history - 8 years of heroin addiction, but then I was clean for 10 years. So just being back on the morphine for 6-8 weeks now has been enough to be strung out as one would say. I have to say I am still traumatized from that shot of Nalbuphine yesterday. It really was an other wordly like experience. The first 15 seconds or so was bizarre - here I was expecting some really basic buzz of a lighter pain killer than morphine and BAM! this massive rush of heat and woozyness came over me - I was scared shitless. I still feel a bit chemically off - kind of like that feeling you have after you get in a car accident.
Man thats gotta really blow to think your getting that great opiate high, and then go into full blown withdrawal. I love the anticipation of getting opiates, when I've gotten fake 80s before I was so pissed. Seems like you should have tried to research more, but I'm guessing you already learned that.
