    NOT AT THE MALL.

Srsly mom. Don't do it. You'll work nine hours a week at minimum wage.

    Fuck that shit.

i've made a couple bucks more than minimum wage working that many hours at the mall simply covering shifts for my company, simply covering shifts, normally working in a different location on the incredibly vast majority of days. it all depends where you're hired. malls are lousy, but they can be a nice change of pace.

if you're willing to put out a little more effort than most standard entry-level jobs, starbucks pays a competitive wage (compared to most entry level jobs in the food service industry) plus an incredible benefits package. when i worked for them, which was almost three years and up until this past august, i had better insurance than my parents, who both work in well paying corporate jobs. in fact, starbucks health benefits are brought to the workers by aetna, whom starbucks pays (in addition, nominally, to the workers)

starbucks partners (like i used to be) get better health insurance coverage than do employees of aetna (like a friend of mine)

if you are severely limited in your possibilities and you're willing to both work in food service and to put out a little extra effort, this might be a great opportunity.

but there will be a few regional differences

or sixty hours a week, at a third the rate of pay of people who know less than you do about what they're being paid to be experts in <shh, don't tell them I told you>

I'm willing to work for any pay, any day and any shift. Doesn't matter.

Good luck! I'm off to apply at every coffee shop I can find. I half quit my job yesterday/expressed interest in not working there anymore, or at least takingg a long break...so I need a job now, I'm like living off coffee and peanuts presently :p

Practically every store at the mall here is looking for people because of the holidays. I've had 4 interviews already. I didnt went to one, because I decided that I dont want to work at a shoe store, looking at people's feet. I had two yesterday and I got hired at Express, the only thing that sucks is that now that I work there I cant work in any other adult clothing store.

You can have my job, cause working is not what it is cracked up to be. A means to an end, nothing else. If only death could come sooner. haha
