Someone on Knotty locks said that 100% natural shea butter on bleached dreads helped to keep them from breaking and nourishes them. I don't really know much about it but does anyone recommend it or not? I can't really use Aloe vera plants as I'd neglect them or my crazy pets would have a hold of it. I've found some 100% shea butter on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....05049713&Category=11862null&_trksid=p3907.m29 But I'd like a second opinion
I'd be nervous about using straight shea butter as its greasy and may encourage your dreads to loosen up. I do use small amounts in my shampoo bar, but I've never just used it on its own.
Yeah I thought as much. I've also seen blocks of it but I'm frightened it could end up like wax. How do you use it in your shampoo bar?
I use shea butter like any other oil/fat in soap making. It's just gotta be melted down before adding lye, etc to it.
ive seen it used alot just never used it myself.. i think its perfectly fine to use..in mideration..and especialy in more mature locks id use lil bit and only when really needed
Was hoping you'd see this Do you think Ishould rinse it out when I've used it? I don't want to be a candle head hehehehehe
tried it once... leaves some sort of buildup that can be easily washed out. take a look at this or the juice http://aloeandyou.com/show_product.asp?id=50
Thanks do they ship to UK? I think its a moisturisation thing, critik. I juist need to condition them seeing as I bleach them regularly
