Theres this Halloween party that my boyfriend and I are going to, it's with his former job and the theme is the 70's....and I was thinking about going as Janis Joplin. What are some suggestions? Unfortunetly i have to buy a wig, coz my hair is really short.....but what are some ideas on clothes and accessories?
Tips and Ideas are appreciated ;) thanx

A black and lacey no-sleeved top....tan or blue jean bell-bottoms, tight....lots and lots of necklaces, mnostly beads...lots of bracelets....and a scratchy twangy voice, if you can do it.

You must have a bottle of Wild Turkey. If you can't do the alcohol thing, see if you can get an empty one somewhere and fill it with tea.

You must have large round glasses (dark preferred) and lots of jewelry and velvet.

I went as Janis for several years.

    Peace to you.

Oh I *totally* did the Janis thing for halloween a couple of years ago. I wore a shirt with big bell sleeves, a pair of nice phat bellbottom jeans with a shawl wrapped around the waist, TONS of necklaces and bracelets, peacock feathre earrings, big glasses and a floppy hat. It was fun and simple to throw together.

I was Janis for my school's celebrity day, here's what I wore:

    Black flared-ish jeans
A light pink tank top under this really cool semi-see through red shirt that was long sleeved
My hair was really long (now it's Beatle length) so I didn't have to wear a wig...
HUUUUUUGE sunglasses that made me look like a bug
My shoes for Church (little black shiny high heels, about an inch on the heel)
About six rings, 25 bracelets, a ton of necklaces and tied this really trippy burnt velvet scarf around my shoulders like a shawl

What would be cool is if you got some white velvet and made super big bell bottoms and one of those bell-sleeved shirts and tie-dyed it blue and green like the outfit she wore to Woodstock

go barefoot!!! (the reason I didn't is because they won't let me come to school without shoes on :()
