I watched that movie the other day and I'm both intrigued by the masterpiece on the subject of conformatism but also confused, that movie was just weird. But, I still loved and I'm going to keep a look out for cheap Stanley Kubrick movies, I have 2001 and I plan on watching it eventually. But, Clockwork Orange, what does everyone think of it?
The greatest film in the entire kubrick catalog. 2001 is a close 2nd though. the classical music soundtracks for both films are amazing to say the least.
this is my favorite movie in the whole world!! ahh i love it so much the book is great, everyone should read.. the 'nadsat' language is used waaay more in the book then the movie though so some people think it's confusing, but i got it all easily. kubrick is a genius.. 2001, dr. strangelove and lolita are some of my other favorites by him you should definitely check them out
I think this was the second great movie of Kubric, space odyssey is the best... In this movie, there is great way, to tell things, about "bad", and revenge. This is the darkside of humans mind I think... It is quite wide subject in this film, and there is lot to watch about.
I know people that base their life on it. I know people that actually wear droog outfits. Its crazy but I love the movie and the soundtrack.
the first time i saw it, i was tripping on shrooms and thought it was a music video for coal chamber. lol. but its a very good movie when your sober.
Great movie and a great book.I liked how it made you feel sorry for the bad guy.On the one hand i felt he deserved everything that happened to him,on the other hand i felt bad for the way he was treated...great stuff.
i thought it was brilliant when i saw it, ages ago. i read the book and wanna see the film again. we just rented sparticus, can't wait to see that.
Oh, WOW! Cool!!! i remember seeing it, years ago, and i was shocked, turned on, disgusted and piqued by it. i've wondered about going back to watch movies ~ i will do that with particularly good books, and now that we've got youtube, i guess we can do it with movies, too! Okay, well, BRB!
This is one film I can watch again and again, I've practically studied it shot by shot... bit of a shame to watch it at youtube quality, get yourself a nice dvd or download it:tongue:
I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE this movie. And I love Kubrick normally. I find this to be his absolute worst film and one of the most unfortunate and terrible film adaptations of a novel ever. The book is 1000times better.
Can we assume that if, say, we ended up on the Newlywed Game, and the question was "What is your spouses most HATED movie?", that, "A Clockwork Orange" would be FTW?!?!?
If thats sarcasm then fuck you. Quit being rude. I told zilla that so they can watch it without buying it on dvd for 20 bucks. You know, be nice and lend some help, obviously you've never gotten it from anyone else, otherwise you wouldnt be such a dick.
I actually like this movie. Other movies like Requiem For A Dream that are in a similar tradition are way cool. Any movie buffs around here I can be friends with?
Even though the entertainment business has been developing into a more profane and demoralized industry, this so-called movie is still too vulgar to be put on the shelves in stores. This movie is closer to pornography, and that is what it should be sold as. It is distasteful, has a weak storyline, and holds no educational or entertainment value other than sex and violence, which should not be considered valuable material. When it was first released in 1971 it was rated X, so it was edited and re-rated R. Rated R movies, however, should not be able to contain scenes where a woman is shown being raped in front of her husband and a threesome involving countless sexual positions is clearly shown on the screen for a long period of time. No one should be subjected to such nauseating images. If a person wants to see these things, they should have to go out of their way to get it, instead of being able to pick it up at the local video or electronics store. This movie glorifies sexual violence and murder. It portrays these "ultra-violent" acts to be an ultimate-high. This film sits out there waiting to be bought by a teenager interested in violence, since most electronics stores don't check ID for the purchasing of rated R videos. Anyone who watches this movie will have some part of them corrupted in someway, and there are already too many things in this world to corrupt pure minds. I strongly suggest never watching this movie. If you must, please do not let your children view a single moment of it. I couldn't even finish watching this pornography because of how sick it made me feel, but it is still by far the worst movie I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. ______________________________________________________________ Cult Film DVD Store Magazine Subscription Store
