    Hello.
My name is rebekah, im 17yrs old, soon to be 18. Looking for a travelling buddy :) im in spain at the moment but im english. its always been my dream to travel, to experience everything the bad things and the good things. i want to see the world. i want to experience different cultures. i want to be me!! i dont mind if i have to sleep rough some nights, or if i dont shower for weeks, or if i havent got enough money to eat for some day, or if i have to busk to get some money.... but i dont really want to do it alone... none of my friends here where i am are up for it, theyre all so controlled by the system, so closed minded.
Im looking for someone whos easy to get a long with and thinks positively.
The country i want to go to first is Slovakia and Chezch republic....im hoping to find money along the way doing work in bars or whatever and maybe staying in hostels or campsites.
Is there anyone thats up for travelling to everywhere and anywhere???

    PAZ AMOR Y LIBERTAD!

I wish I could. Maybe one day. For now if you want there is a website called couchsurfing.com dedicated to that kind of thing; you have to be eighteen to be a member though. I've been thinking of joining it.

    Good luck with your trip.

I'm planing something similar with my friends, although I live in central america. The idea is to take about a month to walk down the pacific coast. We'd get money by juggling and similar things. I'm extremely exited, it's going to be a greeeeeeat trip.

Another group you guys might be interested in is WWOOF (Willing Workers On Organic Farms). Basically you exchange farm work for food and a place to stay, and you get to meet some great people along the way. I think I'll be doing that in a year or two.

Sounds so awesome and I'd love to travel with you, sadly though I've got a couple more years to go before I can leave home :( Only 16, ya know.
I've got such a craving for the road though!

Besides, who needs a salary? You don't have to worry about money if you don't have any to worry about!
    :D
    That's my philosophy.

Regarding WWOOF, my plan is to be a traveling WWOOFer in the winter and a host in the summer. Hopefully we'll be hosts within the next year or two after I build those cabins I've been planning out at the end of the field, next to the pond. I could sure use a WWOOFer or 5 to help with planting, weeding and general work around the farm.

That's fine as long as they aren't using me. What I mean to say is do they sell any of their product on the market or is all of it used to sustain their little community?

Well most hosts are private organic farms that do have to make a profit. They wouldn't be in business if they didn't. The WWOOFers help the host make a profit and the host helps the WWOOFer travel on a budget and learn about organic farming techniques. It's win-win.

Our farm is in Nova Scotia, Canada. We're not a WWOOf host yet but when we do register and get on their list I could send you a PM if you like. We might become hosts next year or the year after.

Until then there are tons of other really interesting organic farms all around the world to visit and learn from. It's really quite amazing discovering all the little edens people have created around the world.

Definitely let me know. This makes me feel so much more optimistic about the future. It's sounds like a good, simple living which is what I am looking for after high school.

What is the situation with housing for people in this program?
Is there any particular diet that people are expected to adhere to? I dunno like vegan or something?

It's awesome to see that there is so much interest just on this one site about this. I'm not out of high school yet either, so I'm really excited about doing some traveling and WWOOFing myself in a few years.

I know that any diet and housing arrangements are made between the WWOOFer and the host. All WWOOF really does is provide a contact medium for the two. WWOOF Canada for example has a list of hosts on their website (www.wwoof.ca) and what kind of housing and food each host provides. I've met some WWOOFers that bring tents with them, however most hosts provide a couch or a spare bedroom or a cabin if your really lucky.

(On a side note, from my limited experience, WWOOFing seems like a great way to meet nice like-minded girls:) )
