Was the buddha just a man who discovered certain things ? and why did the revival of his teachings take so long seeing as what he had to say was so significant

no, the Buddha did not claim divinity. It wasnt until Mahayana school that the Buddha was seen as a god.

Buddha was asked this question many times and responded in the only way he could. With silence.

Buddha realized that truth at the human level will always be an individual experience.

As such, he could never share his own perspective of God.

You must understand that Buddhism is not a spiritual path. Its a discipline which tames the mind.

A precursor to a spiritual path. It makes you ready for the journey. It creates a jumping off point to the divine.

I like his teachings, well what little I know I like. The thing is meditation goes one of two ways for me 1.exploration and 2.search for God and I cant make out which one the buddah's teachins best relates to ? I've done so much research that now I dont know where I stand and my search has come to a stand still.

I'm glad you wrote this as you did because I feel it is what is true. Before one could even ponder 'God' one must make oneself transparent to oneself or else what would be the point even of trying to make that search? Divinity might be closer that one can even think, if one can just first 'know themself.'

Well they are the same but when I meditate I feel pressure between the eye's and sometimes in my chest then I'm traveling through falling snow ,that is when I get freaked out and snap out of my session ,each time I get a little further that is exploration. Otherwise I get moments of clarity and a kinda spiritual high that I associate with searching for God or I feel God .Can anyone explain my experiences ,It's always one or the other

Pretty much as a mirror does. Meditations have been taught for both jnana and prajna. Nothing new here.

Meditation is exploration into a higher state of conciousness, whether it reveals a God or reveals no God, that is up for you to learn. When the self is realized, the universe falls into place.

To answer the original question, Buddha did not claim divinity. Buddha never spoke of God. He left that for you to decide.

    Buddha claimed Bodhi

Like everybody said; as the story goes he didn't teach in regard to Gods at all, so no claims to Divinity in the strict sense of the word could be made.

However, Varjayana Buddhism makes use of all sorts of Divine beings in it's practices, though the view remains essentially Buddhist. Such practices, and all practices, are boats left on the shore.
