I put that place up in Thayer for sale again. Other party could not get the $$ to do so. Man I hate having loose ends like this. I put it in the local paper that comes out Friday. I hope a person could sell a place to live for $6k but with this economy you never know.
I know the feelin I had a boy come to look at the car I'm sellin he was in love with it but he hadn't the money I think he just wanted a spin in it .Thats life .
Well they were living in a travel trailer, had 2 kids and I really wished they could have done it but it did not happen. They were expecting a check and I guess it did not get here. I told them I would hold it and I did but its been 20 days and still nothing so I had to say that was the best I could do. The lot is appraised for more than the price I want for the whole place but I am trying to avoid the whole realtor angle and save people some money. The realtor wants to list it but higher than I want for it. They want me to paint it and would list it for just under $21K but its too far for me to mess with from my house. Pics are in my gallery, called Thayer 1,2 ect. Needs elbow grease and paint and would be quaint.
oh. if you were somewhere else, like new mexico or california, we might be interesting. not that we have 6k, but we prolly could have come up with it, to buy a house.
Nope way down here in the middle of nowhere. Its like an hours drive from me to there (thayer). Its for a person who likes to do things outdoors and enjoys alot of bluegrass stuff and like mountain man events, races, fishing, hunting, hikes, mountain bikes, and so on.
Never heard of Autin (did you mean Alton?) I live 20'ish miles north of West Plains MO up HWY 17 and the house Im selling is about 20 Miles South of West Plains on HWY 63.
yeah, not the house for us then. hope you find a buyer though... 6k is a great price for a house, regardless of how out in bfe it is.
Not sure, the economy is pretty crappy lately, people are running a tad bit scared and I cant blame them.
Alton....thats it! I sat here and thought and thought...but it wouldn't come to me.... so I figured you would figure it out My grandparents had bought 80 acres of land out there during the 80's for $20,000. Then all 5 of their kids(less my mama) moved out there with them. They eventually sold it and most everyone moved to West Plains. I visited one time. Not much to do in their area. I was 17 and got to hang out at the bar and play darts.
West Plains is pretty good sized now. Has a 4 year college and all now. Alton is small but I have a friend that owns a canoe rental place out there off the river with a camp ground too. I could imagine this area in the 80's I moved to West Plains from Washington State in 1997 and it was small.
