if you really want to get rid of them you could
    cut them
    roll them into themselves
    roll them into the locks
    crochet them into the locks
    tie them into the locks

and im sure there are a number of things you could put into your hair to help those methods. actually, you will need specific things for a few of those methods. for example, you would need a lock-safe type of string or band to tie into the locks, something like hemp.

i would recommend letting them be though. how did you start your locks anyway?

your locks are a week old
    theyre not locks yet
they need tome to lock up
    leave em be
umm how can u say u started em naturaly then backcombed to speed it up if it was only a week? you mean you intended to start em naturaly but got very impatient very quickly?

either way they are backcombed hair now they will need tome to settle in and since its just a week and u already have up on natural gir impatient and backcombed i highly recomennd you just sit back and waut..
let em do what they do
dont cut em dont tie em dont crochet or whatever just leave em be
    learn to be patient
they will change alot over the next frew months

I backcombed and tried to role the ends on a few about 3 weeks after, didn't do any good. the rolled ends loosened and the free ones knotted up by themselves a little so there about the same now. Easier not to bother. :)

the tips won't be nearly knotted up by a week. and you have backcombed dread starts, not full on dreads. i know, i hated it when people said that when i first started, but it's true. your hair hasn't actually dreaded itself yet. give it time. you could hold the tip of the "dread" in one hand like a pencil, and rub the tip on the other palm in circles. that does help somewhat. i did that a lot and go nice rounded tips, but then i decided i didn't want rounded tips anymore, and combed them out when i ripped them apart.

have a little patience!!! even a little goes a long way when it comes to dreads!
