does anyone know where to get patterns for the comfy roll top gaucho kinda pants, except long ones? lol... if that made any sense. i have a pair, i'm wearing them in my sig... and they're soooo comfy! but i wanna learn how to make them, and i'm looking for a pattern for something similar. they're not too wide in the thigh, but flare pretty much continuously to the foot, so they're kind of swishy. but they're somewhat fitted around the hips/butt, and are low-rise with a soft roll over top. if anyone knows of any patterns for pants like this, it would be really amazing! they look like they'd be simple as hell to make, and as i'm a beginner, i want something simple, lol!!!
nakedtreehugger my love, are you a member of tribe.net? huge resource of people like us creative mofos they have tribes dedicated to patterns and clothes creations...all you gotta do is ask, I'm sure there are tons of people who could help you out over there. namaste.
OH DUH, that's what the instructions say... Yeah, gauchos are super easy to make and the pattern doesn't have to be perfect!! It's just ideal to use the pants u like so that you can get the rise to fit nicely.....
You can also try http://www.craftster.org/ and burdastyle.com free to sign up and lots of free patterns and what not.
thanks guys! i haven't gotten around to experimenting with this stuff yet. the thing i don't get is, if you're sewing a pair of knit stretchy pants, how do you get it so that the sewing stretches with the fabric? and stalk, i signed up. but i haven't signed back in yet.
(zig zag stitch is my hero.) theres a special stitch for stretch, but i never use it. i use a zigzag, and pull the fabric so that theres a little stretch built in. unfortunately, it doesn't always work, (pop pop, there go my seams!) but it holds up better than a straight stitch on stretchy fabric.
