I don't rip chunks out of trees. I do agree we should have more love for the fruit and vegetables of the earth, but for me personally I think the bigger issue here is the animals, but that doesn't make that of the plants less.
So? Most people have not contracted heart disease or cancer from eating meat, so they wouldn't even care if the death statistics decreased. Also, most people have never contracted (or whatever) E. coli, so there's no justification there, either. Americans are greedy with money, and they wouldn't want to pay a penny more than is necessary for their meat. So what... picking an apple off of a tree is now evil? Harvesting plants is now evil? Ripping up carrots is murder? Give me a break... What!? You're 14!? Haha, I thought you were like... 20!
It's not just about Americans. Whereever there is civilisation, there is greed. But it's not just about the animals we eat. There are animals that we enslave and consider them pets. Ok, cat's are free, they can get out of the house any time and never come back, but they come back for food, shelter etc. But birds... Jesus, I can't imagine how a bird feels like when you put it in a cage and cut the feathers from its wings so he doesn't fly away, its monstruous. Or dogs that live detained all their lives. They can't run, they cant have sex, they can't do anything, and nobody gives a shit, they just keep on saying how cute they are and how they "love" them. Its a nightmare. People are so ignorant and selfish.
So, your calling me selfish cause I have a dog? m'kay... I take great care of my Tosh, and found him in a gutter all dirty and bone skinny when he was a pup and took him home and cared for him and such and now he is one kick ass dog So, I was being selfish thats the funniest thing I''ve heard in such a long time I guess I could have left him there to die or get hit by a truck or sent to the pound, I guess I was just tooo selfish
What is one of the two leading causes of heart disease? Obesity. How do you get fat/obese? Eating fatty foods...animal products have more fat in them than any other kind of food. Plants won't clog up your arteries. Cows and pigs and chickens live in pools of their own shit, do you think those bacteria don't come with the animals when they are packaged? If you don't believe me, I will find the statistics of deaths caused by obesity and clogged arteries. People don't have haert attacks or strokes for no reason. Thanks Katie damn loveflower...I thought you were 16/17ish...
This was a very stupid comment. What you were saying has nothing to do with what I was saying. Your act of saving him was not selfish. If you let your dog go out, and do whatever he wants, then you are not selfish. But if you keep him inside even when he wants to go then you are. Like I said, the right relationship with animals is the one people have with cats. They go and come back on their free will. If you walk your dog every day, and let him run wherever he wishes, then I guess you are not selfish. If he likes being around you he will not run away. If he does run away, then he doesn't feel free in your house.
You are an idiot. If we freed all our dogs they would surely get killed or starve to death. I am sure her dog would rather be with her than be in the wild.
hahahaha thanks again for the laugh I appreciate it And yes, it had everything to do with what you were saying..
I'm not saying that you're wrong, I'm saying that people don't care. Everyone knows that smoking will kill you, but millions of people smoke. However, if eaten properly, meat isn't unhealty anyway. If meat was so terrible, nutritionists would advise eating none; they don't. It can be healty.
When I used to eat meat I felt like I was contaminating my body. I also don't think I should sacrifice a cow's life just so I can eat at McDonald's.
All the men in my family, I mean from way far back, were hunters and fishermen...truly the outdoors type. There are hunting seasons for a reason....to thin the population so there won't be as many starving and sick animals fighting for a smaller and smaller amount of food....there is hardly much land for them, given that there are too many humans taking their land over for malls and subdivisions. We always had fresh meat and butchered it ourselves....venison, duck and geese in the fall and winter....fresh fish all summer....I was raised this way. I won't change. Ruby
They're not going to take over the earth. The only reason they're so damn numerous now is because we force them to breed so fucking much. Do you think a wild cow will ever naturally become pregnant right after she has a baby?
So? Fat is not bad. If you have too little fat in your diet, your body can't reproduce cells properly (as cells have fat in them) and you won't have energy reserves for when you get hungry. Too much of anything is bad, and of course that goes for animal products. The reason Americans are obese is because we don't excercise and we don't balance animal products with plants. Yes, that's why meat is COOKED. As long as you cook the meat properly, there is no risk of catching a disease from it (except for maybe Mad Cow disease, but that isn't a factor in the US) As I stated before, obesity and clogged arteries are caused by a lack of balance in diets and a lack of excercise--bacteria has nothing to do with it.
Precisely.... we're artificially inseminating most... so it's pretty pointless to say they are going to take over the earth as farms control the population of things such as cows. I used to hunt... I used to fish... and I never said or thought during the entire time I was hunting or fishing that it was "to keep the population down"... I did it for my own pleasure as it was a game... I feel in this day and age, unless you live in canada somewhere in a native tribe, that it is pointless. You had to chase and fool your food to get something to eat a long time ago. It's different in this day and age when you walk over to the meat and produce section.
You see, class, silly comments like this on message boards lead people the wrong way... Mad Cow Disease HAS been found in the USA and it is here.
That's a good quote, Blackie And Nathan, there has never been a case of a human contracting Mad Cow disease in America. A cow or two came down with it in Washington state, but that was several years ago and they have since contained the problem so it is no longer relavent.
You're right, I just wanted to see if you knew your subject. No human has ever gotten it, but yes, it has reached American soil.
