well, i wasnt sure whether or not to bring up the "young dreads", im cool with deleting this one and putting a post on young dreads well, i lost the battery charger for my camera a while ago and haven't found it yet. while my pal had his camera, i had to squeeze myself into a few shots and ask him for some closeups of my hair to show off my progress. here are some of the closer ones, but there are more on my profile under "starting dreads" these are a couple of days ago, in the first week of all natural locks. i didnt use bronners yet in these pics. and crap i forget how to add pictures... http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=1361&pictureid=10092 http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=1361&pictureid=10093 http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=1361&pictureid=10090 http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=1361&pictureid=10089 there lol **UPDATE alright, here's things after about 2 months. there is some white fluff in there and i think its from my hat. i picked that out and i guess im going to be finding a new hat now, but here you go. there's more in my album if you need to confirm my mental handicap with my inability to take pictures of myself.
pic 3 looks like how my hair is all the time o_o.... idk what "natural" dreads are... whats the process and whats the difference in results from this and opposed to the other kind of dreads??
I am so jealous of people with that naturally wavy hair! It makes the prettiest dreads. Beautiful hair, and I look forward to seeing your progress.
thank you, i am very satisfied with this method of locking. when i did the knottyboy way i was always fussing over my hair and i got stressed out a few times if it didnt look perfect. Bishiness i know it doesn't look like locks, but after the hair sections itself and you leave it for a while the sections stay together. so in motion it looks more like locked hair, and if you feel it you cant just stick your finger through it like you could any curl. just a pattern i noticed, they are thinner and looser near the edge of my hair line, but the closer they get to the middle of the hair, the crown i think its called, the bigger and tighter they are.
none whatsoever. the most maintenance i do is rip em apart. only one was made by my hand (can't see it in these pics) where i took a bunch of loose hairs and twisted and ripped them into something. it has that braid shape though.
Don't know how you came to that conclusion, There clearly NOT backcombed. ------------------------ Nice progress Glacius, your hair seems to be perfect for dreading.
