[Sorry i already posted this in the MUSIC forum, but I think it fits in more here] ---->Heya, I know there seems to be alot of questions on guitars, but I have some more! Not just about guitars though! Okay, me and my sister want to learn how to play the electric guitar! We are both excited but wonder all about it. I mean, shes 13, still young - but i'm 17 - i feel so old. Is it alright for me to start now? I wish I would of started a long time ago, but oh well I suppose! To practice the guitar, what do you need to buy? The cords, amps, how is all that work? Also, I'm kinda slow learner and impatinent - but i really want to stick with this because i never stick with anything, any ideas on how to actualy stick with it? Is it fun to practice? OH - and what other instruments are out there that you can take lessons with? I know about the drums, keyboards and such. But I really dig the bongo drums - do you take lessons for those or what? What elce is there? Well thank you so much to anyone who replies because these
for beginners you should get a fender squier starter pack, this includes a 10 watt amp, cord, guitar (of course), gig bag, auto tuner, and picks. you should get a book that has lots of chords and scales in them, and maybe a tablature book if you're interested in writing your own music tablature is pretty sel explainatory, if you want some good tabs (beginner-intermediate-advanced) check out http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ also when you're practicing DO NOT practice things you already know, lots of people do that and it really doesn't get them anywhere! good luck
I started on a Fender Strat.... most people think they're an easy to use beginners guitar... and it seemed as if it was... then I was introduced to the spoils of the les paul... now I might pick up one of my fenders once a month.
Ummm with the bongos if you have a pair, you can get someone who knows how to play drums to teach you. Doesnt matter what type of drummer they are, we all seem to pick up and play any type of drum easily, and if not theyll be able to teach you the basics anyways. But if you wanna go it on your own, most importantly listen to the drums in all types music and play along with CD's or the radio(even if its not bongos in the music you can still play along, all the drums do is keep the tempo and back up the band). And theres info on the net and at the library on handdrumming. And if you dont have a pair yet just bang on your tummy or the table or something with your hands until you get some.
1960 Reissue... one of the only ones I've ever seen with a birdsye maple top... I ordered it when I worked as an asst. guitar tech at a shop... they only had the model in ebony and wine red at the time... but the owner has connections and got my order sped up with a friend who works at the factory and I got it in about five days as opposed to the 1-1/2 months that it takes most shops.
ick... PRS guitars are just wall decorations. They aren't really made to be played, imo. There's no soul in them.
