Heya, I know there seems to be alot of questions on guitars, but I have some more! Not just about guitars though! Okay, me and my sister want to learn how to play the electric guitar! We are both excited but wonder all about it. I mean, shes 13, still young - but i'm 17 - i feel so old. Is it alright for me to start now? I wish I would of started a long time ago, but oh well I suppose! To practice the guitar, what do you need to buy? The cords, amps, how is all that work? Also, I'm kinda slow learner and impatinent - but i really want to stick with this because i never stick with anything, any ideas on how to actualy stick with it? Is it fun to practice? OH - and what other instruments are out there that you can take lessons with? I know about the drums, keyboards and such. But I really dig the bongo drums - do you take lessons for those or what? What elce is there? Well thank you so much to anyone who replies because these questions have really been on my mind lately! THANKS!
Of course it alright to start now! i was about that age when i picked it up the guitar. Like anything it can be frustrating at first but it's really fun once you can play songs. If your learning on electric all you need is an amp, a cord, and the guitar. If its an acoustic your learning on you just need the guitar(oh an picks help too haha) As for sticking with it you gotta be commited to practicing everyday(I found keeping it on a stand or anywhere where its in view at all times helpful, that way youll notice it and wanna play). And dont make it a chore you hate doing, just have fun! As for other intruments you can get lessons for just about anything as long as there is someone in your area that knows how to play them(local papers list people). But then again if you like doing things on your own and get bored when people teach you(like me)you can teach yourself. Theres PLENTY of lessons for just about every intrument on the net or at the library. Im self taught on the guitar, harmonica, drums, and didgeridoo thanks to those resources and Im still learning. Good Luck its definatly worth it!
