I want to walk across the country

Hey Everyone,

My name is Mike Dawson and I live in West Palm Beach, Florida.

I'm considering walking across the country to Cali.

It's something I've always wanted to do and being 17 years old and totally fucked in school I decided I want to drop out and embark on my journey.

If anyone has done the walk wanna help me outt with some tips and pointers?

I figure, it's something I want to do, so why not do it now while I'm able to?

I've wanted to walk to Cali now for over two years. I've just never wanted to do it alone. I'm in Gainesville right now.

I've been thinking of doing this also except that im already in cali so I would go east.

Or more likely I would like to longboard to washington

 

There's nothin' on the East coast mate...
and Washinton's up hill, that would be one hell of a ride!

Hello Walrus and welcome!! I never walked it but once I hitchhiked from Jacksonville to Yuma AZ. That's close to Calif. It's a long way! Good luck if you decide to walk it though!!!

If you walk, bring a canteen, a hat and a pair of sun glasses. The sun can sure mess with your head especially out west.
Also you can stay at homeless shelters from city to city, depends on where you are, you can always get a free meal there and sometimes a free bunk for the night.
