Basically my GF has been on antibiotics because her belly peircing got infected. She took the last one last Wednesday. Apparently they stop the pill from working and we had sex last Tuesday and Wednesday. I didnt even know the pill stops working though, so now she could be pregnant. Shes due on her period next week but she is going on holiday so shes continuing on the pill until she comes back from her holiday, but i think she should come on her period when on holiday for peace of mind that she isnt pregnant. What is the best thing to do?
Omg I had the same problem but The more you freak out about it your mind is just going to play with you.. Be patient and every think will turn out well...
antibiotics basically kill them effect of the pills, the pharmacist will tell you that when u pick it. Not to scare you or anything but being on Antibiotics actually increases your chances of pregnancy
This is how I got pregnant with my first daughter. You'll have to wait to find out, and the more you sweat it, the worse it will be. Stress can actually delay her regular period. Good luck.
I have been on birth control for a little under 2 years, and have had about 10-15 rounds of antibiotics in that time. I'm always asked what other medications I'm on, and I list (if any others) them, always including birth control. I have never been told that being on antibiotics could affect the effectiveness of the birth control. I did read it in the leaflet in my first package of birth control, but had forgotten by the time my next round of antibiotics had come around. At no time have I ever been told by any of my numerous doctors (or my pharmacist), including my gynocologist and the doctor prescribing the antibiotics that they could alter the effectiveness. How is it that this isn't told to patients? Do they assume it's common knowledge, or is this a personal experience and not a typical one? Almost miraculously it seems, I have not gotten pregnant...but how could I not have been told this?
^ their supposto to tell you, my law Either that or they usually post a bright yellow sticker that tells you that on the bottle label. You could have sued them if u did get preg
