Agreed. Kill em all, fuck jail. That whole thing sounds shady to begin with. I guarantee SOMEONE at that national park is getting paid to look the other way and allow these grow ops. They harvest and leave a nice patch untouched, hand that over to the feds to make it look like there making progress in this struggle that's been going on since the late 90s.

Side note. That last half of the article is nothing but fear based bs. As if saying 'pesticide' over and over is going to put a dent in their marijuana sales.

Take note people...Your government wants you to grow your own bud in the safety of your house. No Tree Blood for Bong hits.

large scale commercial operations in nationally protected wildlife areas is hardly news.

whether you smoke or not, this is yet one more reason it should be legalized, so that legitimate cultivation can be established without having to hide.

people will smoke regardless. if its forced onto the black market, then people will still find a way. often the people who are making lots of money in this business are those without scruples.

legalize it and this would never happen.

The first comment was hilarious. After that every other comment stated the obvious, it's the government's fault the land is getting fucked up.

its not necessarily the governments fault

but the legal environment results in this being a possibility. its something that happens. it can be remedied, but they aren't at fault in terms of the wilderness being ruined.

its like saying there would be no car crashes if the government didnt go around building roads.

yeah, i think it should be legal, and this is one of the many problems resulting from it being illegal. but this specific problem is not the fault of the government - simply one that i think they are approaching from the wrong angle.

If this doesn't give a better reason to legalize it I don't know what does.
