    https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=let's+grow+mushrooms+pf+tek&search_type=&aq=f

^ that is a really good 4 video series that should get you started off good

here is a page describing the pf tek, the by far easiest tek and method, and best for beginners- http://www.shroomery.org/8410/Simple-Cubensis-Growing-Technique

and here is the real pf tek- http://www.shroomery.org/8409/PF-Tek

to peace and rasta, no because there would be a high chance of contams getting in if you just 'cook' it, i dont know exactly what you mean. you should read up some more

well for the bare minimun, you would need:

a couple 1/2 pint wide mouth canning jars
you could use saw dust and soil but vermiculite and brown rice flour would be better
you would need a pot and jar lids to sterilize the contents
a spore syringe, inject the jars once they have been sterilized and cooled down, BUT STERILIZATION IS THE KEY. when your injecting them, flame sterilize the needle each time or else you will definitely get contams.

then once they are done colonizing then you could just put them in a simple container that has high humidity and yes, you could grow a couple shrooms, but the pf tek way is by far the best for beginners.

of course you could do an outdoor grow when it gets warmer and that would require alot less maintinence, check shroomery.org, they have good outdoor grow guides

    good luck

if you grow them in teh wild they will be less potent, but still very worthwile in the summer and fall (fall if yo ulive down south, but if you live in northern states or canada then summer would be good)

I like the advice. But I will NEVER use anything smaller than a wide mouthed quart jar. Just my preferance.

it all sounds so complicated.. in the wild they grow in turds. Is that because teh turds are sterile with regards to teh bacteria that harms shrooms?
Or is it that there are just so many spores out in teh wild that some of them will fruit, even given such delicate conditions required to grow them?

EG why cant you just get some cow turd and lay the spores in it?

I used to tap wild cubensis on cowpies out in Florida and sure enough, next week, there would be 50 sprouted there.

I even once found cubensis growing from a dead cow....(long been decomposed)

mushrooms and bones. It was a trip.

I've never grown mushrooms but I've always wondered this same thing, Bill.

Perhaps this is the luxury of living around ready patches of cow pats in humid environments- one that most of us do not share

    I suppose...

on the other side of the country in California I know folks that gather so many mushrooms in the winter it's crazy. I've never known how to identify those ones, though.

    They prefer woodchips.

    I'm sure there's a natural method.....?

My bud lives 10 minutes from a cow farm and he used to walk there at night and gather some from the manure shed.

hmmm..If psilocybe mushrooms naturally grow like that, maybe someone could buy some online and let it sit out in their lawn for a week or two...

all you need to do is tap the spores on the cow pie, bro.

a week later you're good to go.

    water it.

    must be hot and humid.

dont be a gullible sap, the only way to make that work is to eat a ton of freshie caps and rye berries and wander around a cow field taking shits allover the place. johnny mushroom spore.

and yea we out here in california pick lots of cyanescens, but also to a lesser degree cyanofibrillosa, baeocystis and semilanceata. shit tons of muscaria as well. the wood eaters are easy as hell to grow in your yard, if you find some growing somewhere just dig up the blob of mycelium and plant it with fresh alder chips in your yard. planting of tall grasses around your patch encourage growth by creating a humidity zone right above the ground, if you use phallaris you might get increased potency, who knows, by the way most wood eaters are potent as fuck.

for azurescens you need to go to oregon or washington.
