So for years this McDonalds near my home has the no shoes sign on the door. I have challenged that sign many times and not once has there ever been an issue. No one there has ever even commented even though I have eaten there many times. Not long ago they removed the no shoes sign on the door. I wonder if I influenced that in any way after several visits without the sky falling down? I'd like to think I did, and helped gain tolerance for our chosen, harmless lifestyle.
We are talking like 2 dozen times over a period of a couple of years. I don't eat there nightly, and I weigh less than 200 pounds. I really don't get the two negative responses here. One wants me to bomb the place, and the other makes some sort of sideways accusation about my eating habits. I thought this was a place of peace. Am I wrong in that assertion?
I was just going on the original post....how would I know it was only a couple times. There are many jokesters here too That just like to have fun! edit: I didn't read the fact you hadn't eaten there much. My apologies. Now through a big mac at me
It's great that you got such a hide-bound megalithic corporate entity to remove the ever-offensive NS3 sign, either directly or indirectly. The derisive comments here are made due to prevailing attitudes in the wider hip community regarding the the environmental, social and health impact created by McDonald's as evidenced in McDonald's Restaurants v Morris & Steel. Their poor reputation is also illustrated in "Fast Food Nation." You must admit that there's a certain amount of irony in a barefoot, hip person eating at McDonald's.
24-7 that is amazing that your actions got your local McDonalds to remove their NS3 sign Let's have a barefoot party there It's awful to see that just because some people think that McDonalds is evil, your accomplishment isn't being celebrated here as it should be! We are about the triumph of bare feet here, and no matter what your food politics are, the fact that a part of a large corporate enterprise decided that bare feet were okay is just amazing and should be celebrated!
