    always blend it with water
add a bit of lemon juice
cook up more than you need to
you can even include the core

you probably just didn't cook enough.

    t. pachanoi?

either way, even if you did not trip, you absorbed good medicine.

sometimes you get a weak cactus. it happens. ive seen people eat 15-20 inches and nada.

ive split a foot between two people...i was literally seeing sound, my friend was playing the djembe and i could see interlocking weaving colored hectagonal shapes with circles in them forming patterns and changing according to the drum pattern. when the beat started going faster the patterns became braided and more vibrant.

its genetics: where your cactus came from. how big is it, was it an arm from an old big huge tree-like cacti, or a little seedling made from a small cutting? immature cacti dont make for good brews. its the wise ones you want.

did you know that in the Andes these cacti rarely propogate by seed? they fall over on the side and let new branches grow from the toppled arms. they do this over and over again..the original cutting that your specimen was propogated from , might have been taken from a cactus hundreds of years old!

at the very least, you gotta keep it at a low boil for four hours.
i have experimented with many methods, and now all i do is cut it into slices and use the whole cactus.
i then let it boil on low for 6-8 hours, though i have made up three doses in two hours.... sure was a lot of sludge :D

be sure to fast for a day :)

stalk is correct, there is nothing like have the cactus in your system as you run through the desert with the lizards.

This method sounds quite long winded. I think you'd be better off brewing 40-60g of Peruvian Torch into a tea.

hmm bouncing bear has always worked for me. usually i only have to boil it for 1.5 - 2 hours and its done and raring to go. you didn't boil it too high so that all the mescaline was boiled out of it?

So far, my experiences similar to PS's - although both times there were hints of the psychedelic - and hints of the psychedelic mind-frame continue several weeks after last time. Will try dried soon and post

best results for me,,, cleaned the cactus & despined.. cut out 3inch chunks and cut out the inner white core,, pealed the waxy layer off,, cut into smaller pieces put ina pot at a slight boil for 4 hours (water may need to b added),,, strained the juice out of the cactus and placed to the side,, using the same cactus chunks repeat 2 more times with fresh water but on the 2nd and 3rd boil add lil lemon juice,, last u combine all 3 strains and boil 1 last time,,, i was working with 3 14in pieces so i made the potion for 3 people,,, DYNO MITE

Next time try blending your cactus skins in a blender and bringing the cactus foam to a liquid over medium heat in a steel pot. Strain and simmer down to a managable quantity. Or skin the cactus and dry the skins for six hours in a 200 degree oven. Powder the skins in a blender or coffee grinder. make a lemon water solution to boil in using 1 cup lemon juice 2 cups distilled water. Pour enough solution to make the powder a liquid. Boil on low boil for 20 min. Strain through a regular mesh baking strainer. Return the cactus stuff to the pot and add more soution. Do this 3x. Add all three boils, strain again and simmer to a managable quantity. Or lastly just carefully eat the skins raw.
