for swearing or whatever.. mine happened when i was a kid..I think I said the word "fuck"..my mom made me take a bite out of a bar of irish spring..I showed her and took a huge bite..I was bubbling for days.. my career of swearing was not over..the next time she had me open my mouth as she squirted dish washing soap in my mouth.. that discipline did not work at all.
Never. This thread reminds of that scene in Christmas Story where he says "fudge" and his mom takes that big red bar of soap...
no and i would not do that to my kids. its quite disgusting...theres other ways of disciplining a child than "washing" their mouth out with soap
I was threatened with it but never had it done Then one day (I was about 5?) I was curious as to how bad it was so went and there was some liquid soap in the bathroom so I squirted a big bunch into my hand and then put it in my mouth It wasnt particularly pleasant experience
I have only done it once....and a long time ago. It came from her yelling and screaming at me. Punching, hitting, kicking, not staying in the corner, not staying in the room and then telling me to "go to hell" Sometimes you get to the end of your rope and have to find something that works. I didn't put the soap in her mouth though. Just touched the soap with my finger and put it in her mouth. She doesn't yell at me like that at all anymore
nah. if I cussed my mom would just beat me for a good 10 minutes till she worked her frustrations out. soap was too tame.
My grandma tried when I was about 8. Thankfully she was about 72 at the time. Couldn't get up or down the stairs as quickly as I could. It was more for fun really. R.I.P Grandma...*sniff*.
it was always a given that once you reached a certain age in my house...swearing was acceptable...i remember in highschool...my english teacher and i were on the same level...anyone could say what they wanted in class with no reprocussions...and we were allowed to use "curse" words in our reports as long as they were relevant...good times
yes... not only that I got hit with a greasy spatula that burned my arm and made it smell like hamburger.. And then there was this time I was suppose to cut the grass but I didnt and when my parents asked me I said I will do it when I feel like it...They made me take scissors and go out and cut the grass, they told me to come in after about two hours.. Haha I laugh now because that's funny... I also drew on the side of our brick house and they made me spend all weekend washing all the bricks..which was weird cause it didnt come off and it was brick...
i saw yoda then i was like "hey its yoda" then it reminded me of that weird al song yoda Y - O - D - A yoda
Yep. ALLLL the time, and my parents are half hippie, so it was really strong lye-based oatmeal soap. Disgusting, yet filling.
I am a mama....and we do what we have to do sometimes. I felt horrible guilt for it. But it would not be true for me to say that I have never done it. When everything fails...sometimes triggers of your past kick in and you think you might have found the solution. Parenthood is filled with guilt. No parent is always proud of their choices.
You shouldn't feel horrible guilt at all.. I was beat with a thick ass leather belt daily amongst other things and I honestly never thought that my parents were crap for doing so..or hate them in anyway...When I was a teenager and my parents found cigarettes in my room, my dad made me eat two...Blah, gross, but I was 13 with cigarettes, I mean yeah I deserved it... So don't feel guilty at all...
