I agree maturity is necessary to use drugs safely and effectively, but I don't think all 15 year olds are children. I've known people that age who were mature adults inside. I think spiritual growth should be awesomely fun at times!

Maturity matters alot indeed. But i wonder, why do people use drugs?
I know for one that i used it to escape myself, to escape my worries, to find answers, i ended up just escaping from everything day in day out. Drugs can open your mind, but shouldn't one question if there arn't better way to find answers, to "open your mind", by experiencing the brightness of nature, the joy of life without having to go in this alternate state by the use of drugs? I still smoke the occasional joint with friends now and then, but now that i've grown older, the magic of drugs has dissappeared, i found my answers somewhere else, i don't feel that drugs can offer me anything anymore. I prefer the joy of life then the warry state of mind drugs puts you in.

I've supplemented my life with drugs very deliberately. I've never done them just to have fun or get fucked up.

The reason for dabbling in the drug world, for me at least, was just to get a glimpse into the workings of my own mind. I wanted perspective and insight into how my day to day consciousness operated, and drugs allowed me to step outside the box.

Even under the most extreme circumstances, (being warped through other dimensions, experiencing the universe macrocosmically and microcosmically in the same instance, being overwhelmed by an extreme and rapidly escalating fear of death), there is always a part of me that is watching quietly, never saying anything, but just observing.

So, while I've never indulged recklessly in drugs, I can say for certain that they have progressed me along my spiritual path. It's almost like they handed me a map of my ego, and now I'm better able to recognize my own faults and work around them.

I think drugs can be a wonderful and miraculous tool, if they are used propery. Sadly, most people don't see this.

I agree, pot and psychedelics learned me alot too (and even hard drugs like speed and xtc), it is a wonderfull thing, but you need a strong mind to handle drugs like psychedelics, and every drugs is a dubble edged blade, it all comes with sacrefices, anyone who used shrooms or lsd and still claims that its all positive is a fool, in some way it fucks you up, changes you forever, i still have alot of flashbacks from my trips, my world feels more real then ever before, but at the same time it turned in to some kind of abstract painting.. hard to explain.. i believe that meditation is a much safer path then drugs. But that's just my opinion, it all depends on the person dealing with the drugs.

I would have to say yes in a sense that you don't abuse the usage of it. I know for a fact there are really dumb people out there....
