Anyone with me on a boycott of the new david zucker republican comedy An American Carol? Anyone know how its doing in the box office? I think it just came out a few days ago. Everyone is expecting it to bomb. I mean a film that makes fun of a filmmaker.. thats just not in good taste. (not that one should expect a republican comedy to be) The character in the movie Micheal "Malone"'s most famous film is called "Die American Pigs" or something to that effect. I think republican comedy is best left to the white trash heap that is Blue Collar Comedy tour and Larry The Cable Guy. Oh, and shit-stompin' country music singer Trace Adkins is one of the main characters in the movie. Go make another shitty Scary Movie sequel zucker, and for the record, Airplane sucked.
I recently read about the movie in Entertainment Weekly and was instantly repulsed by it! I agree to a boycott!!!
I don't think there's a need to boycott it because nobody's going out to see it. On 1600+ screens, it grossed less than $4mil. Bill Maher's movie, by contrast, made that much on 500 screens. The film's producer is already blaming poor ticket sales on "ticket fraud" (http://filmdrunk.uproxx.com/?p=4497). Poor Republican Noise Machine....always the victim.
