if u got a myspace post this as a buliten (or reworded the top part but leave the repost so its spread wide) i posted it as have dreads? fell for the knottyboy/dreadheadhq scam? but u can title it whatever ya want

    -------

    read and repost

bought a dreadkit for 70$ glued your hair together with harmful wax and used useless and harmful products you never needed?

    its time to say no
send back your unused wax lock peppa dread kits and accelerator wether u used most already or not demanding your money bacck
include this letter or one reworded in your own words

    Dear Dread Destroyers

Please accept these returned products and refund everything paid for these useless and harmful products and discontinue your practice of selling lies.

The dread community is becoming aware of your scam and will not accept any more dreads being harmed by your products.

We the consumers hereby humbly request you take the following actions to prevent further boycotting and possible lawsuits:
1: Remove wax products from your inventory remove all mention and suggestion of its use in dreads and post a public apology for misleading millions of dreadheads and damaging and destroying many dreads.

    2. Change your instructional DVD’s to only show instructions for performing various methods and discontinue the lies about natural dreads being wild messy and unkempt, and stop suggesting the use of rubber bands for more than 2 days after any techniques.

3: Discontinue Lock Peppa Lock Accelerator and suggest only the use of sea salt and aloe.

4: Discontinue the sales of "dread kits' and the idea of instant dreads, you may however continue selling flea comb for backcombing but at a fair price only.

We the condemners have no issues with you selling shampoos dread beads tams or any dread related products that are not harmful to dreads, however the lies about non African hair types needing your products to dread will no longer be tolerated.

People achieving the natural look and feel of Dreadlocks, is about a self realisation, a journey to better yourself and to unite yourself with your fellow man, and nature.

Somewhere amongst the pages upon pages of your products claiming the 'manufacture' of dreads, and the labels listing every chemical known to man, the original aims & journey have been forgotten, I cant believe a company like yourselves have become so lost in the effort to help achieve dreads, when it seems apparent all you are focusing on is profit.

We hope you honor these requests in a professional manor for your own protection, dread wax alone is so dangerous to dreads, and the removal of the wax so difficult as I believe it includes heating the wax to liquid form or heating above melting point, which is 140 degrees farenheit much above the temperature required to blister the scalp as its usually handling boiling water which could cause severe injury may occur.

If that product is not discontinued immediately it’s only a matter of time before someone’s severely burned trying to clean up the mess your products created and a lawsuit could be potentially devastating to your business.

Our intention is not to put you out of business, but to protect the consumer, the future dreadheads of the world and provide only true and useful information without regards to profit.

Thank you and look forward to your compliance

As many others, I too fell for the dreadhead/knotty boy scam. I usually can see past that kinda shit but out of desperation to get good looking dreads, you will almost believe anything. Here is my experience:

I started with backcombing and wax. Luckily though after two weeks in the process and using the wax twice, I immediately stopped using it. I was skeptical about it begin with so used tiny amounts. With zero previous dreading experience and not talking to anyone with dreads(at least how to make them) I could tell that wax was nothing but greasing my hair up and glueing the "locks" together. I actually didn't buy a dread kit but bought all the products "needed" over time from various places. Fortunately bought the wax from a different source and was much less damaging. It actually washed out after 2-3 washes over the course of a few weeks. After finding this and other dreads forums, I learned of the damaging effects of wax and thankfully I had already come to same conclusion and with so little wax to begin with, I got it out I as far as I can tell. This was back in February.

I got their locking accelerator product and used while backcombing. This shit made my hair straight up nasty and smelled bad. I was begging to wonder how I was ever going to make it between washes because it was just nasty. I was also foolish enough to buy their "Lock Peppa" which definitely help knot your hair up while backcombing. But it changes the texture of the hair and the knots just fall out after washing, it too is more or less glue. I also used rubber bands for months, thinking thats what my hair needed. I lost so much hair due to rubber bands. But with all shit combined, you can imagine the damage it does to your hair. It was awful at the time.

I continued to use their shampoo though.(More or less just didn't want to spend anymore money.) The more I used it the less I like it. I usually have to wash my hair 2-3 times before it gets clean. I mean it gets the job done, and it residue free, but it's way over hyped. I also don't wash my hair anywhere from once a week to going up 3 weeks. I really depends. I washed all the time at first because all my I washed my hair every time I took a shower. I am looking forward to buying Dr. Bronners liquid soap. (I have one more use out of the shitty dreadhead shampoo.) I was using Dr. Bronners bar soap before I even thought of dreading and love the soap. It was wasn't until I found this place until I knew of the liquid soap for washing hair.

But to wrap up my experience with the dreadhead scam is it's unfortunate that when you desire something so bad, you'll believe and buy almost anything. Luckily with some common sense you can get out of it before it's too late. Now, 8 months later my hair is flourishing for the first time. Shrinking has stopped, I have 2 inches of new dreaded growth. Loose hair is getting sucked up everyday, ripping daily. I think I am going to do a deep cleaning wash very soon too, just to ensure all the shit from the past is completely out.

Yeah I fell for it looking for a good residue free shampoo. The "shampoo" that they sell is fake and doesn't do anything. It might have some aloe in it, but I used it as a body wash too. Yeah it could be natural and residue free, but it DOES NOT kill odor causing bacteria.

I used the shampoo for a year, and smelled like the septic line under your house. I highly recommend that you stay away from that garbage. The members of the websites have their favorite product (which is the most expensive) as default if they didn't use the scroll to choose one. So that would be the dreadheadhq shampoo.

Now I'm looking for a good shampoo and will be using Tea Tree poo. I can also recommend an AMAZING deodorizer which is a natural deoderant mineral rock that you can find for about 10 US dollars about 5 oz for cheap. It will last about a year or some longer.

I was about to order the whole dread head kit, but I had posted a question on yahoo about dreads and someone sent me a link to this site. So If I understand correctly no wax and Dr. Bonner's is all I need? Does the same apply if I want skinny dreads? Thanks

yup if u want skinny dreads just seperate em more often tipping intoi thin sections as they form ot u can backcomb if u want and section ant size u want
but if u go natural yourt hair will section as it wants different hair types might be more prone to thin ot thick
but seperating em will keep em thin..allowing them to combine will let em get thick
naturaly you;ll hsve a mix of sizes though

that's very helpful my hair starts to dread itself the day after I
wash it so I don't think I'll have to work too hard. I think I may try to section just out of fear I'd end up with one huge lock :)
