The school I'll be going to has an internet network available to all students living in the dorms, but I'm not fond of the 'immoral surfing equals invasion of privacy Neo-McCarthyism' clause that I would have to sign in order to use it... What about getting one of those internet connect cards for my laptop -- there has to be more options than just to sign this form and give them the power to monitor anything I look up.. Has anyone else used those cards at college? Please help, I feel like Pink from Dazed and Confused.. I dont want to have to sign this clause.
Since you have a laptop, you have many options. Ever hear of war driving?. You drive around looking for wireless networks that are open. Lots are. No cost except for gas. Certain coffee shops and cafes offer wireless access now. If you want it at home, I'm sure there are many services available. Maybe talk to the local computer teacher for advice on who to go with. x
I would just use what they offer at the dorm, shits free. Most internet cards have a monthly fee and they have to be within range of a tower or something like that if i'm not mistaken?
well i can afford it, i did my own research on those laptop connect cards, i'm gonna go with verizon, it has the best coverage for my area...
There are many ways to tether your phone if you have unlimited data plans. Try googling for free internet cell tether.
