I was looking at conservation a while ago because the idea of just working full time scared me! I think the open university do a few courses, but the choice is limited, but still some good options. A friend graduated from there last year and she really enjoyed it and felt supported. I'd go for it if you found something you were interested in.

well they say their qualification is equivalent to A-level. Is that the level you're looking for?

I'm a little sceptical of the claim that you'll have "unlimited access to a personal tutor" by phone, fax, or email. Do you really believe someone's going to be sitting by their phone 24 hours a day to attend to your every need?

I'm doing a conservation degree next year. My careers advisors told me that pretty much the most important thing in the field is practical experience and that i should go for the degree which has the most outdoors time.

Are there any agricultural colleges near you? I did habitat conservation/countryside management course which was amazing, 60% of the course was practical outdoors work, but there was a lot of detailed science involved too. I know my college offered it as a part time course and there was one lady who came in 1 day a week.
