Does your mom have a particular talent? My mom is a wonderful painter and Andy's mom is an incredible cross-stitcher. During my visit home, my mom gave me one of her beautiful paintings. She matted it with william morris printed paper and coordinating matte ribbon. She found an antique frame and being the ecocycler she is painted it in a sage green. The day I left Andy's mom sent us a very cool cross stitch she made for us. It is so detailed and the shading is just beautiful! She even stiched in our initials. I am posting a picture of them because I am so proud of both my mom and mother-in-law's talent.
my mom is fucking amazing. there's nothing in particular that she really stands out in, besides being a great mom, but she is willing to try almost anything and is good at most things she tries. i could go on, but i don't really want to gush right now...
that is so cool. My mom likes to try new things too and she is also good at the majority of things she tries. I wish I were more like that!
My mom is a great ball buster. She is a beautiful native american woman that has no idea just how great she is. She was homeless at age 14. She quit high school when she was a freshman. She married my dad when she was 17 and decided that she wanted more for herself. She got her GED when I was a baby. After divorcing my dad she worked three jobs so we could live in a shit apartment. There were times when my mom would go hungry so that I could eat. My mom never took a hand out and never asked the government for help. She saved all the money that she could and she started going to college. She was able to quit one of her jobs. When my dad came back into the picture she was able to quit working and focus on school. My mother was the first in her family to ever get a college education. I completely look up to her.
My mom was a bit precocious. She wrote a play at age 8 or 9, I think. As a teenager she won a national singing competition in Brazil in the late 60s. The award was a contract with one of the biggest record labels at the time, in Sao Paulo. My step-grandfather threatened her life with a shotgun if she went, on the basis that singing "was for whores." It's not clear whether or not he actually pointed the shotgun at her as she was leaving with her suitcase in hand. For that reason, now she's a doctor-
Well, if todays wars, economy and lack of peace are any indication of balance then your mom is very untalented. Jk, I know what you mean.
This thread makes me realise how little time my mom had/has in her life for hobbies and such. Between working and raising six kids alone, she had her hands full. Although she is a pretty good ballroom dancer.
is it fucking mother's day? lol... i would say what my mother's talent was, but i don't wanna be the downer on this thread.
my mom does diksha, reiki, feng shui, TM, and homeopathy. she is an incredible healer. she is good at reading tarot, too.
