Taking a bath...

my pipes are currently taking a bath in 90% ISO... how long should i let them set in there... heres a picture of how dark the alcohol is after just shaking two different pipes in the alcohol... now im letting all my small pipes sit in there..

So my question.. how long to soak? there's like 6 pipes in there.. and how should i go about evaporation.. should i start it on fire like i've seen.. or just put it on a cookie sheet and let it air dry..

 

Air dry, everything bad will evaporate that way very quickly.
No use in stinking up the house heating them.

 

well by the time i pulled them out and scrubbed them up a lil more.. that alcohol was black.. you couldnt see through it.. so hopefully this means im gonna get some killer oil.. i've never done this before.. all i know is when my hands were gettin dipped in the alcohol my hands were sticky as fuck..

Let it evaporate on as big of pan as possible, the more surface area the faster it evaporates. What I did when I made oil was put the evaporating alcohol mixture under a couple of hot lights and point a few fans at the dish. It evaporated in about 2 hrs. Also using a glass pan helps its alot easier to scrape the oil from glass than it is a metal cookie sheet.

The only issue I am seeing with your setup is how long the alcohol has been working, I know if you do it with plant matter and it stays in the alcohol for too long the oil gets weak. I dont know what the deal is with resin though. Only one way to find out though

on a side note.. i was in my basement.. and remember that story awhile ago i would tell about finding stashed weed in my simpsons trivia game? well when i found it .. i must've put it right back.. say hello to a 8+y/o bowls worth of weed lol

that oil looks smokeable. It looks alot purer than straight resin looks thats for sure.

 

i don't get why people think smoking resin is gross...

 

i've smoked resin collected from an ISO soask many times before. its fine, but i will say it smokes and tastes a little different. maybe more unhealthy for you i guess, i dont know, but resins not great for you to begin with, in comparison to real herb.


the only thing to remember is you MUST wait and let the alcohol evaporate out of it. dont smoke alcohol. alcohol can vaporise and be absorbed through the lungs. it would be fine if it were ethanol....if anything you'd get a little bit drunk. but thats isopropyl, which is quite poisonous. once it evaporates out, there will be no more ISO and it will be smokable, but dont smoke it beforehand.

but you gotta love soaking your pieces in alcohol to remove the resin...one of the only ways to get them 95%+ clean, almost good as new. boiling sucks
