Once almost everyday, usually in the afternoon, I feel faint and light-headed. Sometimes for over an hour.

You guys ever feel that way?

It's like every bright color or light hurts my eyes, I'm oversensitive to noise. And I'm absolutely uncapable of carrying a conversation with someone. It's worse in the winter too.

I'm anxious just to be in a dark room by myself and take a nap- [IMG]

How do you feel when that happens? And what do you do if you're in public or can't take a break?

    Right!

I feel very self-conscious and whatever I do is like I'm watching myself in a Jerry Lewis slapstick movie.

I do shit all wrong. Like, tonight I was flirting with two girls taller than me and putting my arm on their shoulders as opposed to their hips while taking pictures, which was uncomfortable for all of us.

A voice said, "You're doing things the wrong way."

It sounds a little like anxiety, or really bad fatigue. I suffer from both so I know exactly what you're talking about.

Do you feel trapped in your own head and awkward around people? Do you feel as if the smallest deeds take huge amounts of effort?

Are you a very busy person or do you have a relaxed life? Could it be some sort of minor seizure...

Perhaps I could be worrying you. I will shhh now :) Personally I wouldn't worry too much about it short of trying to find out the cause. I have had to deal with similar episodes for years and they are very manageable.

I don't know if the fatigue precedes the anxiety or if it's the other way around.

I know when I close my eyes I go into R.E.M. even though I'm not sleeping. And I feel "afraid" of falling asleep or dying. It's been worse since I quit drinking and smoking.

What do you do if you're in public or busy?

yeah, it happens from time to time (NOT because of where a particular planet is ). never to the extent that i need to hide and fall asleep though. it would be nice, but it's possible, for me at least, to just slow down and concentrate more on everything i'm doing until i feel normal again.

I practice mindfulness, like a jedi. I find the one corner of my mind that is still operating as normal and work from there. I try not to panic. I tackle everything head on, including any feelings of panic or fatigue and then my responsibilities. Its very difficult to explain in words but it works. I can often carry on conversations when I am anxious now as if I am as calm as a buddha.

I'm not sure how exactly I started to go about being mindful but the usual method is to recognise your thoughts (or lack of thoughts) no matter how painful it might seem and then cast them aside. It is then that you realise that things are never as scary as they seem.

I hope that makes sense. I am willing to go into much more detail and articulate better if you like.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and this works with physical symptoms like dizziness and pain as well.

Whoa! That's what I do as well.

Except I wouldn't describe it as casting it aside. It's more like I become alert to fight-flight and do not react until it becomes something else.

I feel dizzy on a daily basis. I had an amazing experience of mindfulness when I had food poisoning. I was throwing up and it felt "pleasurable"- BECAUSE I was fully present :)

Empire Strikes Back. Luke leaves Dagobah to help save Han Solo and Leia from being captured by the empire. Obi Wan and Yoda are frightened that Luke is leaving too soon before completing his training but Yoda assures Obi Wan that "There is another", referring to Luke's sister Leia.

All I am saying is that you are my sister in the force.
